Who all leaves it in 4A all the time? With a tune I get tire of spinning out...

I do. since, oh... January 2017.

Even in 4a, you can break the rears loose enough to spin, the difference is you’re moving forward while the rears are just not really contributing. The big advantage I find is in part throttle where in 2h you’d be drawing attention to yourself, but, in 4a you just rather quietly move forward briskly.

Torque steer? Like we say on the M14 forum: “Do some more Push ups, cupcake!” :p

It’s also nice to not have to worry as much about electronic nannies cracking down on the fun when it gets wet or if there’s some road salt/sand on the pavement.

I run 2H when its dry and 4A when its wet. I used to run 4A all the time but it automatically switches to 2H when switching to sport mode and I got tired of changing it back to 4A. If it wasn't for that I would be in 4A all the time.

I only use 2H when it’s completely dry and above freezing out. Otherwise I’m in 4A.

Is this something that could be changed with FORScan ?
So that Sport mode would be 4A rather than 2H.

How bad is it for the transfer case is it to be in 4A all of the time ?
Other threads indicate accelerated wear and breakage.
Extended warranty I guess.
As long as Ford says it is acceptable to run in 4A all of the time.

You cannot change the default drive mode drive selection. normal(eco) and sport will always default to 2H, weather will default to 4a, etc.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a significant contingent within Ford that wanted to do away with the ability to change the transfer case in any drive mode. The more tech that gets added, the more things they add that aren’t quite what we want.

M14 huh

Under pretty normalized driving 4A is very smooth and easy on the wheel. Sure if your pushing power hard and feeding the fronts due to lack of traction in the rear, you might feel it. But at least those fronts are biting and pulling you through. Nice to have options.
