Hi,

I recently sold my 2017 and am looking to get an 18 or 19. I test drove a 19 the other day and noticed the screen resolution seems improved over my 17. I haven't had a chance to get to an 18 yet to check so I was wondering if any of you know when the screen was "upgraded"? Was it in 18 or later in the 19?

TIA

18 changed to the B&O system. Im sure thats when the screen was upgraded. Havent heard 19 was any different other then software. And possibly WIFI hotspot.

Ford screwed us 18 owners on the hotspot. Every vehicle but the raptor and fusion got it.

Is the hotspot something of value? I might not be reading it right but it doesn't seem like it to me since we have to pay for it right?

If its something you are used to using in another vehicle, you miss it. If you’ve never had it....
My kids use the crap out of it in the denali

on the 19s you can use fordpass to see TPMS values even when the car is off. I check mine often. I also can see the location of my truck when the truck is moving or parked.

I am not 100% sure but I believe this is the case because the hotspot antenna is being used the transmit the data.

BTW ... 2018 F150s has hotspot but I am not sure why ford did not equipped the 2018 Raptors with the same.

Some advice, get a 2019 as it has the measurements feature which the 2018s do not >> https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/2019-measurements-gauges.69500/#post-1376033

‘19-‘20 has new Livewire shocks as well. Yes the engine measurements and custom digital gages you can select to display on the dash. There is now electric parking brakes if that’s something that appeals to you lol.

I'm pretty familiar with the obvious changes such as the shocks but things like the screen resolution and the additional telemetry data are something I haven't read. I personally don't care about the shocks which is why I'm torn between an '18 or spend $5-7k more for a '19

Cam phasers oh the phasers. Supposedly was corrected going back to the ‘18 model year at some point. But then again there was another update in April to new builds I was told. Again a lot I’d information posted online here and not sure how totally accurate it is. Is the ‘19 worth having to make sure you won’t have problems?

Then again how many total ‘18s were affected by it? Small number still I think, but enough where members here can comment on some problems. Just things to consider.

But waiting to see if you get an engine problem is a hypothetical thing and can’t make a sole decision on that. Good chance you wouldn’t, then you would I think.
