Compressed? I never compressed the rear to put them on.

Mine were banded at a pretty long state. I normally bolt up the tops, cut the band, then let them do the work and guide them - these had different ideas. Even after jacking the frame up one was too long. Physics won in the long run though and it finally agreed to be installed.

I should have said. I install the rear shocks fully extended. Usually have to lift the pumpkin a little to bolt the bottom in. Full droop with +3 deavers and drop shackles.

I think what helps there is the aftermarket springs. Factory springs and shackles force you to either compress the shock or put a jack between the sting and frame.

Does the cost include shipping the core back or is that up to you? Might be cheaper to eat the $25.00 core charge vs shipping it back.
You have to pay the shipping to return the core, will probably cost about $15 to return core, I'm mailing it back this Saturday, if less than $25.

Did you install GEN2 shocks or something?

The +3s and drop shackles make it waaaay easier to put on shocks because you get more droop than stock meaning the shock fully extended is not quite long enough when in full droop to get it on....so all you have to do is lower the truck just a bit.
Now on the other hand with stock springs or +2s with no drop shackles the shock is longer than it will droop and it can be a real hassle to get them on if you prematurely cut the band (ask me how i know[emoji23]) anyways the trick is to put a bottle jack in between the top of the spring and the frame[emoji6]
