Hi all, I wanted to get peoples opinions on if they have bought or sold a raptor and if it was modded or stock. I am currently trying to sell my gen1 and I have bumpers, lights, and ford performance exhaust. All of my mods are reversible but I don't want to do it if people would be interested in buying with the parts.

I doubt anyone would be bothered by the mods, except if they just don't aesthetically like the bumper. Even then, I don't think it would hurt sales much since new owner could just replace it and sell your bumper. If you still have the original bumper parts, you could throw that in to the deal if you think it matters.

Yes that was my plan, I kept all of the stock parts and was going to include all of it with the sale. It is all high quality parts, such as ADD bumpers and Rigid industries lights.

In the world of raptors, there are 2 groups of buyers.
1. wants a stock, low mileage not beat on Raptor.
2. is going to use it as intended, and sees a modded truck as a way to get a deal on a raptor.

group 2 is a smaller audience, in my opinion.
I appreciate your insight and I would agree. Mine hasn’t been beaten on and it has the mods so best of both world for everyone haha

My first raptor I reverted back to stock. Trade in wise the dealer wasn't offering anything decent over a stock truck. So, had the OEM bumpers and wheels, swapped them on and then sold the bumpers etc on here/fb

Were you able to get a decent price on the bumpers and other aftermarket parts?

I say so.

Maybe 50-60% of initial cost IIRC on the bumpers. Forget what I got for the wheels.

Was going to get 37k with or without stock parts so at least recouped some money from them.

If you’re doing a trade-in you probably want to remove the parts. Dealers usually don’t care about those mods and usually remove them, at least here in California. My brother in-law has worked as a parts manager and service manager at a well-known Chevy dealership here in Northern Cali and any time they get a modded truck in they replace the parts or revert it back to stock in order to sell it. He or another employee will usually take the parts removed as the dealership just throws them out. He has a 16 diesel 2500 and the suspension he has on his truck was from a trade-in where they were just going to throw the nearly new suspension out.

Yeah when I went to put my name on a new raptor they weren’t offering much extra for the mods. I have heard the same about dealerships just throwing out aftermarket parts. I’m also up in NorCal in Sacramento. If you know anyone looking for a raptor, let me know.
