GEN 1 New Raptor Purchase, need shock install help

I’m pretty sure they’re all the same. It’s been a few years since i did mine but i remember doing it wrong and then having to look for pictures to figure out what went where. I can snap a pic of mine later today if you want. I probably can’t get a pic of the one on the hat but you can probably find a pic online or if someone selling shocks. There’s a lock ring that makes it hard to get the spacer off the top of the hat so it’s likely no one will remove that

here's a pic of the spacer on top of the hat so you can see which side is against the hat. i'll take a pic of the spacer above my shock tower later today.

you can see the notch goes up and you can see the small lock ring on one stud in one of the pics.

Victory! Thank you for the suggestions and advice.

The front shocks require two spacers each. The rough side goes up on each. The second set of spacers took a few days to arrive, I drove the truck without them, loose feeling in the front, even though everything was tight. Installed the spacers that go on top of the shock housing and what a difference. feels totally tight now.

As for the rear shocks, the pair that we got from the wrecking yard didn't work, one was fine, but the other was shot. Swapped them out with good shocks yesterday. Install tip, bolt in the top of the shock, use a ratchet strap, wrap it over the top of the shock housing and under the bottom of the rear shock, ratchet should face inward, ratchet away until the bolt holes line up, also jacked up the tow hitch to give more room, thanks for the tip. No need to put a jack between the leaf springs and the frame. Much faster and safer. Truck rides great. Found a crazy loud blower motor or blend door part under the dash, next repair item on the list.

Called the local Ford dealer, Mossy Ford, to schedule an oil change, I know, easy dyi and only about $40 to do at home, synthetic oil and filter, but they need to do a recall fix as well. Dealer wanted $129 plus tax for an oil change! I heard about Mercedes, BMW and Porsche crazy dealer prices, but dang, $129 for a Ford. Mossy Toyota, across the street from Mossy Ford, charges $30 for an oil change, $45 for synthetic........wow.

By the way, I got all four shocks when I bought the new rears. I don't need the fronts. I don't know the miles. They are super clean and look really new. The rears look and ride like new. Fronts, without springs, are $300. Located in San Diego. Thanks Phil
