To be honest, most Soldiers (including myself) can't really "afford" a Raptor. lol. That doesn't stop the sham shields from rolling up in Hellcats though. The whole "show 'em your LES and they'll sell you the car" act has gotten many a Joe in the poor house for the first half of their career.

Little different for us thank most I think.

My wife is an O3E and about to pin Major, plus I’m retired and we have hardly any debt other than our vehicles. Just a couple grand left on her school loans.

We set up our vehicles and anything else we may have to be paid off by retirement in less than 5 years now.

And you would be surprised how many Raptors are running around the island. The dealership had 11 of them and I’ve seen more driving around there than any other place I’ve ever been.

Are you out in Hawaii? I was there from 12-18. That COLA and BAH is really nice.

Dual income is where it’s at especially if living in on post housing where the Oahu electric bills can’t get ya. Lol

No we’ve been back Conus from PR since last July, but we are already leaving again for ILE for my wife. Was COLA and Utilities that we were paid in PR was something like $1500 a month. BAH was use or lose unlike CONuS

Here’s something I didn’t know until I just read the warranty manual....

Regarding Ford Protect Extended Service Plans: “NOTE: Repairs performed outside the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guam or Puerto Rico, ****** Islands, American Samoa, and District of Columbia are not eligible for Ford Protect ESP coverage.”

DC? Really? I guess it’s a good thing DC doesn’t have any Ford dealerships.

I think you are reading that backwards. I read it to say any territories outside of those, which means PR is in. But, there could be a clause somewhere that says you have to service it in the territory where you bought it.

That is odd.

the OP bought his truck in PR, was fixed under warranty in PR, moved to Kentucky and had the same issue but was denied in Kentucky.

Well we had it fixed once under warranty in KY, but I wouldn’t put it past that crappy dealer to have seen the warning and then not do anything with it and just not tell us so they didn’t have to deal with it.

Talk to Ford not long ago and they told me that we had to contact the dealer in PR so they could “transfer” the warranty to the States.

Talked to the dealer and they didn’t know wtf Ford was talking about and said it made no sense. But they are getting their GM involved in it to see what they can do on their end. Just a big mess!

The GM at the dealership we have it at got it approved to fix it under warranty “this time” according to Ford. I told the rep at Ford “this time” is not a sufficient fix and I will not be satisfied until the alert is removed from my VIN and I can take it in to be fixed under warranty without going through this shit show. We have 3 months before we get moved to GA, then 12 months later we will be getting moved again

Update today:

Issue still isn’t fixed but the Ford re said it is with the Execs and tech team to figure why.

He also said he was giving us Ford Premium Care for free to make us for the inconveniences we have had. Will have to go read up on it but he seemed to make it sound like it was a good deal and, in essence, extended the warranty on a lot of stuff

Good news. Let’s hope Ford fully unf*cks themselves, and agrees to honor your warranty going forward.
