I just tried the tasker and the scripts that kilthro posted above and they work just as he describes. This is nice and does help the experience overall but getting my wheel controls to work would be awesome.

Basically how it worked, I sent him $$$ via paypal, he sent me a download link to install his custom app on the tablet. That app unlocks his firmware. Kind of a few extra steps, compared to the Phoenix updates we are posting here, but in my opinion, his firmware is how this PX6 should have come stock from Phoenix. I can finally switch back and forth all day long between Sync and apps, screen hasn't gone black on me since running Sergey's FW, and now my steering wheel controls work.

Thanks a ton for putting forth the effort to get this together. I got through steps 1 and 2 before you together these files, but 3 and 4 are a very nice addition. It works great.

I was hoping this would resolve an issue I have with Amazon music. Due to the reduced display area, album art in Amazon was only showing the top half of the image. I figured if the bars went away, the app would resize itself and display the full image. Didn't work. I'm wondering if I need to reinstall the app while the bars are off perhaps.

How much money are we talking about? Is it a donation sort of thing? I checked out the page and I do like what he's done, mostly the different UIs, but will he be able to help troubleshoot issues I'm having? I know he fixed your issues, but I mostly need my camera to start working again. And it would be nice to have functioning bluetooth.

It was $100. I dont see why you couldn't reinstall Phoenix firmware and go back

Not sure if anyone saw the spy pics of the future F150 interior, but it looks like it's going to get an OEM 10" screen. So that begs the question, which would be better, a big screen with a SYNC 3 interface and functions, or an android interface with all that brings.

I am torn, because I like the stability you'd get with SYNC 3 only, as well as the fact that everytihng is designed for the truck envrionment, but would miss certain features you aren't going to be able to do on a non-android system.

Anyone use Tasker to open and play Spotify when connected to WiFi after truck starts? I'm not really good with Tasker. So any help would be appreciated

that can be easily done with tasker. The only issue you may run into is if you have fast boot or not.. if fast boot, tasker will not autoload as the unit doesnt always full boot.. You can google load app after wifi connection tasker to get some videos to walk you through how to do that.

Anyone else have different results every time they start the truck?

It could:

Go back to where I started (ideal)
Reboot, truck pic "android" etc.
No reboot but only go to console screen, may or may not have audio til I change the channel

I'd really like to just have it go back to where I left off, odd because it may do what I want when the truck is off for a week, or may reboot in when the truck is off for 5 minutes

Al of that and then also sometimes it plays the last Sirius channel I had on but doesn’t launch console, and when I manually open console it changes to AM radio.
