Hi all.

As some of you may know, I have a Livernois 6.6 on the way. My truck already has full exhaust system, a Gen 3 Whipple system, upgraded coolers, built transmission, driveshaft, brakes, etc. I have been running a 3.25" pulley and 60 lb/hr fuel injectors. Also an 8 rib drive system with a standard size ATI damper. Making over 570 whp with a basic Whipple canned tune on heavy 37s. Planning to upgrade injectors and fuel pump when the 6.6 goes in.

Trying to decide what belt length and pulley size to run to make max power on pump gas. I am 99% sure but will confirm that I have a K081243 (124.3") belt on the truck now. Open minded to running the OD balancer if that makes sense, just not sure if that is going to be any harder on the power steering pump? I am planning to wind this thing out to however high it will go before running out of air. Perhaps 6600 RPM or so.

Given that the 6.6 is only 5% larger than the 6.2 and also has lower compression, I expect that any real power gains are going to need to come from boost/timing increases that the lower compression and coated pistons will tolerate. With the bigger cams and ported heads, I also expect that there is room for a significant decrease in pulley size, I am just not sure how much it will take on pump gas.

By the way, I plan to run the current 3.25" pulley and a "break in" tune for a month or so before turning the wick up so no rush on this. Motor is still a couple weeks out and I'm also waiting for a Gen 4 head unit in Ford Racing blue from Whipple. I was lucky enough to score a set of those valve covers a few years ago and have been waiting for an excuse to install them.

@MTF any thoughts?

Wild card: I am seriously tempted to ditch the Whipple and move to the Hellion system. I have heard these can be difficult to tune but I am working with a tuner who has significant experience with forced induction Ford trucks.

Are you doing the cams with phaser lock outs?
And I haven't heard anyone that went to the 12% OD ATI have problems with the PS.

why not talk to Dan at Livernois? You already spent some serious money with them. Dan or Anthony or Procopio can and will help you and guide you in the correct path

Livernois likes to set these up in the 650 whp range so they will last forever. I am planning to set mine up like that for break in purposes but would like to see how much more I can get out of it once the engine is broken in and I am sure everything is in order.

Leaning towards the 12% OD (7.48") balancer. The idea being that it allows a larger blower pulley to be used for any given boost level. The larger the pulley, the more belt wrap and the less likely you are to get slippage. Given that I am running an 8 rib drive this isn't a huge concern but to me it makes sense to err on the side of caution. Plus I have a lot of lights and other accessories on my truck so even with the 270 amp alternator I could probably use a little extra charging at idle.

Also leaning towards a 2.875" pulley. Blower speed at 6600 RPM would be a little over 17k RPM. I just need to check with the folks at Whipple to see if that is pushing the limit or not.

Got an interesting update from Livernois this week. The new block from Ford appears to have some differences from prior units Livernois has seen. They are carefully verifying that none of the differences will cause an issue with their prior development work.

I will advise if I learn anything more.

Interesting, we were just discussing that Ford changed the oil weight to 5W-30 on the 2015 and up 6.2L
Keep us posted.
