Comparing the differences between the BF Goodrich KO2 LT315/70R17 and the 35x12.50R17, the math shows only a 0.6” difference in height and a 0.1” difference in width. Is this what to expect when you actually mount them or is there a more noticeable difference?

Go big or go home!

J/K, I would get whichever ones are the best price, as you will not notice the slight difference in size.

The difference is the load range. The 35X12.50R17 is a load range E (10ply) the LT315/70R17 designed for the Raptor is a load rance C (6ply). You will notice a bit harsher of a ride with the 35X12.50 if you care about that type of stuff.

This but you can run the E rated ones at around 30 psi vs the C rated ones (35-38psi) and make back up some of that comfort. Also the E rated wear evenly at 30 PSI on a Wrangler so I would assume the same on the Raptor.

I went with the 35X12.50R17 this time around. Not much different, slight rubbing at fulll lock in the front that wasn’t, there before but it is just the inner fender well.

On my 2017, I ran the 35x12.5-17 and didn't notice much of a difference at all. Never noticed any rubbing either.

You won't notice a difference. The 35's weigh slightly more but you'll feel that more in your head than you will at the steering wheel. I went with 35's because it was a whole $60 more for a set of 4. I wanted the stronger sidewall since I do a lot of off-roading and deflate.
