I mean they could but I highly doubt it since they now have a purpose built frame for the Rap. And do they need to fully invest in retooling for aluminum this time? Again maybe some but not to the extent of 2015.

I'm sure there are many other factors too that don't apply this time around for 2020/2021. I can see it being released later than normal, but not skipping a whole year or two like they did in the past.

Heck, the only reason the overstock exists is because they sat on them with ADMs for months. This is no different than it is with literally every other car or dealer. Dealers will have to drop prices and provide other incentives to move their overstock and make room for the new stuff. Now Ford may also offer a manufacturer incentive on top of that, but a 2 year grace period so dealers can move old stock? Unlikely IMO.

Did you follow the Gen 2 release back in 17? If so, youd know they held out the release of the Gen 2 for a few reasons. It may happen again since Ford focuses all its efforts on the next gen F150, then it will turn its attention to the Raptor. They also seen how a 2 year lull between Gen 1 and Gen 2 drove prices crazy at dealers.

There's overstock because Gen 2s aren't a limited production run. And there's hundreds of dealers offering discounts now on Raptors, but even before that, many weren't over charging for these trucks.
