Me too....Then I can say Gen2 is better because they don't make them anymore and it's more reliable.

Says the guy who got rid of his 17 with 42k miles despite nothing being wrong with it. I am sure you will keep your next one past warranty :)

I love the EcoBoost sucks crowd lol. A lot of them "would never" own a truck with a v6, so I dont take their arguments seriously. If they would never own one, they dont have experience with one. My 2013 f150 ecoboost was still running hard when I traded it in at 140k miles of heavy footed driving, the only issue was a coolant fitting. The engine still ran like the day I got it.
My dads 2013 5.0 has been through 2 water pumps and a steering rack at 125k. His extended warranty saved him a few times, and he babied his truck.

Engine issues with MOST vehicles are rare (unless it's a head gasket in a hemi). The EcoBoost and 6.2 are no exception. I have not heard of many Raptor engine replacements in general, for either generation, unless something stupid happens. And before the timing chain rattle stuff surfaces again, I drove my 2013 for 80k miles after the first time I heard the rattle. I switched to mobile one full synthetic and rarely if ever heard it again... but never had a performance issue in the truck through that period of time. I have no reservations about the engine in my 2019.

ANYTIME you increase power over stock calibrations you are stressing the engine more. I dont care if it's a v6, v8, or inline 4 cylinder. A buddy of mine had a 700whp awd evo for 12 years without issue. Doesnt mean mine will do the same if I bought one. There are plenty of v8 engines out there that nuke themselves with small amounts of boost applied, and quite a few 4 cylinders that can be turned up to stupid power levels. It's all about engine construction/design. Ford has done a good job on all their truck engines throughout the last decade. The same cant be said for some other automakers.

I'm a Performance>Sound kind of guy.

This is not meant to be a dig at gen 1s, love all raptors. Just a comment at the poor souls who hate gen 2s so much that they monitor every post for a chance to complain about something they claim they would never buy.

Oh the meltdowns that would happen if Ford decided to put a smaller engine with more power in the gen 3. There would be people in the streets screaming at the sky like when trump won hahaha.

Pointless argument. Unless the Gen 3 has a better engine, the Gen 1 will still be the best.

Sync 3 is an easy update and so are the paddles.

The Gen1 is currently the 2nd best.
That smell is called off gassing. It's a bunch of cancer causing chemicals being released by all the plastic and rubber.
Almost everything good in life causes cancer.

Update your truck to 17 mpg and an aluminum body. We will wait.
I get that in winter with short trips and regular use of remote start and idling. My V8 caddy got 11 under the same conditions w/o remote start.

Not under the hood.

Point is you should really air that new truck smell out as soon as you can. Nasty stuff.
