**** the warranty. The motor will take it, as will the trans.

Put either blower on top, let your local Ford tuner have at it on the dyno and enjoy it.

Yea, until you don’t have the money (cash) to actually replace the engine or trans.

I concur with @MTF and @Canuck714. I passed on a 14 Roush back in 2014 that I could have bought at dealer’s cost because it drove horrible. The shifts are egregiously rough. You will want a JDM tune! To be honest, I didn’t notice much of a power difference between a 590 hp Roush and stock Raptor given Roush’s tune.

Whipple has continued to make improvements—hints why they are on their 4th compressor. Roush has not attempted such.

Livernois does great work too.

I'd listen to MTF. He seems to be pretty knowledgeable regarding force induction applications on these Gen1 trucks.

Good luck getting ANYONE to cover a blown engine or trans on a Gen 1 Raptor with a blower added by the owner or a shop. They will find a reason to deny it.

If you can't afford a few grand down the road to swap in a used trans or used engine if the stocker fails- you really shouldn't be dropping $7K on an item that could cause that failure. Keep it stock if money is that tight. You should only be adding expensive superchargers to engines that you can repair yourself, or afford to pay someone to repair IMO.

Lol that was my point. I question whether most people can really afford to do such a thing when they are talking about still having a warranty on their vehicle.

Sounds like he's rarely in the boost. It's a daily with some light off roading. Didn't sound to me like he's out to do burnouts all day, so ultimate power is not the end-all be-all here. He'd be better off with a TVS IMO. It's going to run cooler out of boost than the twin screw. The OEMs spec the TVS blowers nearly every time for that reason. If you are really throttle happy and always hitting the boost like a crack pipe- yeah, then go with the twin screw. That's what I put on my Cobra since that's exactly how it gets driven.

You really can't go wrong with either honestly. They are both great compressors that are reliable and make a crap ton of power from idle to redline. The extra heat/lack of efficiency from a twin screw out of boost compared to a roots style blower is not a huge deal either, but it does still exist.

I forgot to say that I drive to the Mall, 4-5 times a week.

With all those mall trips it sounds like you rag on it all the time. In that case, both blowers are going to be super hot from being in boost 100% of the time, so Roots vs TS won't matter.

I could not have said this any better.
Anyone looking at adding Turbo's, a Blower or any other power adder needs to make sure that there is enough "fun money" to fix shit when you get greedy.
This forum is famous for the saying "if you want a tune for MPG, you bought the wrong truck"...well, wanting to have 600HP on a budget falls into this same category.
If you cant afford to play, don't jump in the ring.

But back to the original statement about which blower etc.. The Whipple and the Roush (TVS) are both well proven and for the most part trouble free. A good tuner, makes all the difference.
