So I've been looking at the possible idea of obtaining a Gen 1 with the Roush supercharger.....or Shelby. But for the life of me I cannot understand when I read ads why someone would get "Package A" which to me is a "Wannabe" kit. Decals, stickers, headrests, wheels, maybe a chase rack all for what? "Hey there, I'm Joe Bigshot. Look at my Roush Raptor. That's pretty nice Joe. How much did it raise the horsepower? Huh? Did you you see the cool windshield banner? Nice, but what about the added power? Mmm, this one goes to eleven". I don't get the spending $10k+ to be a rolling advertisement at the mall? Please educate me if I'm wrong.

I'm with you, I don't get the badge thing.

You have two Superchargers two choice from,
The Whipple Stage II with the new Gen 4 compressor, this will give you 750+ HP
And the Roush using an Eaton compressor, also the Stage II gives you 675 HP with a upgraded throttle body.

So at just over a grand difference in price, why would anyone opt for the 590 over the 700?

One is a twin screw compressor, the other is a TVS Roots style. Each has advantages and disadvantages when compared to each other. It just depends on your usage and needs. The ultimate HP capacity of the compressor is just one factor.

Ok, now for us untechnical people, in English? LOL So for someone who will use it 3-4 times a week as a daily driver and the occasional woods road (we have just a few in Maine), which would you go with?

That was English! One is a twin screw, one is roots. Both have their advantages and drawbacks.

Given the usage you described, I'd recommend you go for the TVS roots style blower.

I'd probably go with the 590 HP kit for longevity... More boost= reduced life. 590 is plenty (yes, there is such thing as "enough" HP...) for me.
