Here it is!
I pulled the flap back and revealed this nub here. I slathered it with some silicone paste and marine grease.

The little thing that travels the track needs the grease. I do know if you open and close the window repeatedly after greasing the grease may eventually wear out and need reapplication.
It's kind of sloppy I should wipe it up and redo it neater next time.

I feel like the marine grease works better since with the silicone paste it still makes the tap noise occasionally but is still 90% better. When I dabbed a little marine grease on it but not enough it seemed to be better.
Either way way better than the tapping that doesn't stop.

Dupont KRYTOX grease would be best and longest lasting for this , its a flouropolymer grease and completely inert and wont attack plastic / rubber , GPL 206 is a good grade for this , expensive however.

I tried that method too, I ran across an adjustment bulletin for the vista roof and read all panels should be level with the roof. My front (moveable) panel was not level, it was about 1/2 inch lower in the front. I loosened up the bolt one side at a time behind that accordion piece and leveled the glass out. Bingo, no more noise. I had a popping noise sounded like it was comin from passenger b Pilar. When roof was open no noise...now it’s quite open or closed.

Mine is also silent but adding the Krytox sounds like good preventative maintenance

Krytox is the product to use for the noisy sunroof. I tried Superlube but it doesn’t last as long as Krytox.

I lubed everything up with Krytox and still quiet after a few weeks. It’s expensive but at least I don’t have to go to my support group anymore lol

I had this same rattle and took mine to the dealer and they were aware of it, they replaced all the tracks under warranty and it is good as new now.
