Why does it need to be plugged back in for tow. Isn't the auto start/stop supposed to stay off when towing?

Affects the trailer lights.

This fix is the cheapest/simplest fix, period. Or, just keep it in Sport mode all the time.

Easiest and fastest way. I can't stand dealing with hitting button every time.

Have used this method (unplugging that wire) on my last 4 Raptors. Easy peasy--and free.

That whole start stop all of the time I'm convinced is not good for engine. No proof--just a gut feeling.

Mechanically turning on and off would only shorten it's useful life

No argument there.
