Test the thermostat: Put it in a pot of boiling water. If it opens you know its not the problem. If it doesn't open return it!

The thermostats that they put in these trucks are junk, I've had one expire every 30k miles.

I'd buy a new thermostat and gasket, swap them and try again. It sounds like the one you have is stuck open.

Just seemed odd cause I’ve never had one fluctuate so wildly temperature wise and was wondering if it wasn’t the temp sensor. But I’ll get another thermostat and report back if that fixes it.

How's your heater? Is it blowing hot air like normal or just kind of lukewarm once the truck SHOULD be warm?
