Replacing the stock lug nuts I’m seeing some folks install sets without a locking nut, some install with a single locking nut per wheel, and some have full sets where every nut is a locking nut. I’m leaning to a single locking nut but curious what others have to say.

I used to be “for it” until one broke on me during a trip in PA.
It was a pita, and our whole family trip had to be detoured looking for a shop that can remove it.
( this happened on our Jeep GC, not the Raptor)
This was years ago, and I had the McGard iirc.
Also, from what I’ve read here and other forums, they’re nightmare to remove, esp if multiple breaks.
So, Unless I find a set thats heavy duty and can take the spec torque, then maybe...someday, lol.

How many of you have ever had a tire stolen because you did not have locking lugs? I have them but am thinking about replacing them with non locking lug nuts.

Have always had locking nuts - 1 per wheel on every other vehicle. But based on what I've seen they are almost no deterrent to theft, but a PITA for mechanics and for you.

I have Gorilla lock nuts - all nuts - on my offroad camper. No problems at all.

I've also read a variety of things about aftermarket lug nuts for Raptors generally - not just lockers. It's on my list to sort out. I was just going to order black ones of ? whatever are the best, but when I read about the various popular ones, lots of complaints about rusting and getting stretched out? Maybe I missed some info on which ones have had no problems. I don't like the chrome OEMs - nothing else on the truck is chrome????

Ideally, I would do all black, all lock nuts of a type that are relatively problem free. If someone is going to steal all or one wheel, I like the idea that they will work a little harder for it or need to take a bit more time.

Personally I run splines on all studs. They do use a key but it's a common one. Not so common that every thief has one but common enough that a shop can get their hands on one if needed. It might slow down certain thieves which is all you can really do.

BTW I always keep a couple extra keys. One in the console, one in the manual and one at home.

Personally being from NYC area,if they want them, they will get them....and if they cant get them off cause of locks, they will do major damage trying to get off or they will steal the whole truck and you will find it on blocks a week later....
Just put an AR-15 decal in the window that says We Shoot First....;)

I also do black spline lugs on all my wheels with no locks. Plus, I seldom park it anywhere that is not my garage for very long. Working from home definitely has its advantages in the safe-parking department.
