I agree! A low-mileage 13 or 14 are the best Gen 1s for their features and future value... I loved my original 2010 SCAB, but it did NOT have all the cool stuff of the later years.

I haven’t experienced the first years, but I have a 2014 and love it. After much research I picked it because it was the MY with the most tech and mechanical enhancements.

Find one and DO IT NOW!

Thats why you search out the Mint Gen1 for under $50...Gen1 Shelby is way different than a Gen2 Shelby...and agreed...over $100K for a Raptor is out of question for most....but there are still great values out there on the Gen1 for half that....Just need to find one the little old lady drove to church only on Sundays and not some 20 yo who hits the trails every weekend trying to inpress the gals..lol..I bought mine from a fellow who was late 50's,and used to drive to work everyday...few road trips..never off-road,and totally OCD about upkeep....when it arrived on the transporter I thought I had bought a brand new truck....you could even eat off the top of the Whipple engine was so clean...
Do your homework and you will be paid off.....I've been offered more than I paid for mine after owning for 1 year..:)

Exactly! I'm looking at 13'/14' with less than 30k miles. $40-50 hits the sweet spot to find a great babied example. I use to have a detail business so it will be in the same shape when my oldest gets it.

It'll happen soon enough. But first things first. Flying to Chicago tomorrow with my two boys to pick up Mom's new ride. A 17' Escalade Platinum with 10k miles. Her bling mobile! She drove a 09' Town & Country into the ground at 220k miles. The second engine blew up a couple of months ago. Buried the car. Should be a nice road trip home as I plan to look at some screws on the way back to Maine!

I'm also first on a back up list for a 14' Roush Screw with 17k miles in mint condition so we'll see if the OP follows through.

You won’t regret the Gen1 for even a minute. Original Gangster baby!! Live my ‘12 and will never sell it.

search this site for maintenance and upgrade needs, there are a few of them, especially relating to shocks, the IWE’s, and fuses.
Good luck!

Also, pass on any Raptor sporting a lift kit. Those are ‘do not buy’ because of the way it compromises the suspension system.

I was set on a Gen 2 when I sold my Roush Scab Raptor.

Ended up with a 14 RR SCrew. lol

Something about these trucks I just love even though they are the "older" one.

Maybe I'll upgrade down the road, but will wait to see if Ram ever decides to drop the TRX before deciding.

Wife was pitching a fit today wondering why someone would buy a low mile Gen 1 for only $10k or so less than a higher mileage but newer Gen 2? At one point she said we (huh?...as if she is going to drive it?!?!) were not getting a Gen 1. I had to remind her of her new toy that my 2 boys and I flew to Chicago and drove back this past week.IMG_5610.JPG
