I would blame the lug nuts more than DT. The lugs were the cause, the effect was DT.
I'd love to hear about someone actually getting a ticket for running bead locks on the street. I bet cops don't even know it's illegal. I'd really hope cops would have better things to do than go after offenders or running bead locks. I think I'd be willing to bend that rule and catch me if you can coppers !!!
beadlocks. Catch cans, Bambi lights, side window tint. I could go on and on.

And where I work in a Burbank. They love the addons.

Hello all!! Looking for some advise. The day after thanksgiving in AZ to visit family from CA i went to discount tire to buy a new set of KO2s. First they snapped one of my locking lugs and they made me drive it to a shop to have it removed. The shop had to drill out my stud and replace it. But in the process they tried to use an air hammer to remove it and it destroyed my beadlock capable rim. Once i made it back to discount tire they said they would buy me a new rim. Obviously i was a little upset but sometimes shit happens. I asked the manager if he could over see them installing my rims back on and verify the kids torquing my lugs. Shortly i look over and ask a kid why is he using a hammer to hammer the socket on to my lugs? He said his sockets wont fit. I found the manager again and told him what is going on and told him his employees destroyed all my lugs. He told me he would buy me new lugs. Still a little upset i told him ok but can he personally check the toque on them as i didnt trust his employees. He said he did. I left shortly after to drive back to California. 2 days later i have to drive to San Diego which is 3 hrs one way for work. On the way back from SanDiego I started to notice my truck felt it was shifting strangely i pulled over and noticed two lug nuts were missing. I slowly drove to o Riley and bought a set of lug nuts as i was about to take off the rest of the old ones I noticed they were extremely loose! I then checked all the lugs and i was able to to unscrew them all by hand. Long story short i called the company and told them what happed and i could of died. Then told them some of the damage it caused. All my wheel weights were missing and the missing lugS dented the other rim, rotor damage ect. They said their insurance company would contact me. They never did. I took me calling 6 times and having USAA call them to scare them a bit for them to contact me back. They told me to take it to the dealership and give them a work up for the repairs. I did and it is still currently there waiting for review. My question is should I continue to play along or do you all think i should sue?

Yeah, Discount tire really sucks period.

They destroyed all four of my wheels @ 2,000 miles on my 2014. They wanted to repair them and I let them try one which still looked like crap compared to a new wheel.

So I called the General Manager and he said let me try it again but I'll have a guy do it that is a Ford guy, I told him no thanks.

I had to threaten to call corporate which is exactly what I ended up doing more than once and long story short instead of letting me talk to the president of Discount Tire, they finally caved and wrote me a check for around $1,800.00 dollars as I threatened to sue.

I'd never ever go there again.

regardless of how good, bad or mediocre the stock lugs are, that doesn’t excuse the above tale of woe from OP. If they were that bad when they started, they would have stopped work, and said ‘hey, your lugs are $hit, we can’t do the tires’.

Glad they did the right thing and cut you a check. The DT store by my house is excellent, it’s the only place I go for tires.

One time I had them put a new set of wheels on my Fiat Abarth and the technician cut one of the low profile 17” tires on the machine when removing it. The manager came out to the waiting room and apologized and said he would order me a new tire at no charge but the brand was not in stock. He came back 10 minutes later and said they were going to install a brand new set of tires, a different brand, that they had in stock at no charge to make things right. I have been going to this store for 15 years now.

I had America's Tire put new tires on my previous 2012 Raptor, and when I got home my Girlfriend had left a note saying she'd left me for the store manager.

Your mileage may vary, obviously.

There’s a reason why they’re called Discount Tires, I wouldn’t expect a
high-quality product or services from any business advertised as “discount”.
Lesson learned, good luck.

Discount tire is just as good or bad as any other tire shop. It all comes down the guy mounting/balancing and the guy who puts the wheel/tire back on the vehicle. One shop might suck, but the one 5 miles away is great. It's all about the guys doing the work in the shop.

I guess my question to you is this- who would you consider to be a "high end" tire shop? There are no national tire chains that cater to those who want to spend more for the same tire.
