Hey all, I’ve been dealing with a problem with my 19 Raptor. At speeds between 50-85 I get a wicked shimmy, which I originally thought was a transmission issue... the dealer swapped out a new torque converter. The issue continued. It never threw a code until I was on the highway, the check engine light flashed intermittently then went away when I slowed down. I took it to the dealer where it stayed for 7 days and they could not replicate the issue. They thought I was stupid, i recently traveled for the holiday and the issue kept reappearing, the dealer replaced the number 6 cylinder spark plug and coils. I thought the problem was solved; however, it is continuing. I wouldn’t think spark plugs would have any problems with only 8k miles on it. I have checked Sensors and they are free of any oil. This problem started around 2500 miles. It’s frustrating because it rarely throws any CELs so the dealer won’t touch the truck...Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

When I had a similar set of issues, It ended up being a clogged fuel rail and clogged injector. It is pretty hard to diagnose. The dealership thought my truck had jumped timing at first. My problem would go away for a little while if I changed the plugs, but would come back pretty quickly. There were codes for fuel pressure, but they werent persistent and the check engine light would go off randomly too.

The only code that has shown was a P0306 and a P0300. Which are both cylinder misfires. I don’t know how the Dealership can’t find the code when they have Mode 6 that can look at all the variables in real time. Just frustrating as the truck feels like 4 cylinder. If I wanted that I would’ve gotten a Ranger. Lol.

I'd bet money that if they do a flow test on the injectors and examine the fuel rail, they'll find the culprit. it sounds identical to what my truck did. It started out intermittent like you, then got progressively worse.

Closely related issue. My 19 is 3 day old with less than 250 miles. It was slipping, then banging like hard shifts and finally metal on metal sounding disaster from the rear. Put in in 2H and it continued. Slipping to the dealer. Never a code until I got a message from Ford Pass after I dropped it off about misfires. They called and said they replaced coils etc.. and I need an exhaust. Going to take 4 or 5 days. This concerns me. No details and while I know stuff happens with new vehicles multiple different problems and areas worries me.

Bad way to think of it, but good that it failed early. The misfire issue is concerning, but the exhaust swap should fix that. A bad batch of mufflers was made (looks like internal baffles were not in the correct spot and limits/chokes the engine) so your new exhaust will fix that. You will notice that when you get it back, it will sound much better.

It did sound a little off, but I was ready for the Boost having had the 6.2 and hearing all the crying about sound. As long as that pony will run, jump and do tricks, I don’t care what it sounds like doin it. But cool that I can expect a cleaner sound.
