seems to be a little tension, ehem, I mean passion in this forum..... I’m am learning a ton on FRF though!!!

admittedly ascetics, low maintenance and resale and all that is my play. I didn’t consider plastic dip...too late. Wheels are getting done today. $595, same day, out door w/lifetime warranty and loaner car. They specialize in wheel repair, painting, PC, plastic dip and advised gloss powder coat for durability (HOUSTON streets). He showed me satin finish after 6 mo vs gloss. I wanted satin, but oh well, I don’t want to do this again.

btw, if it helps anyone - the rate here seems to be $125/wheel plus labor for mounting $70-80

Ooh and if you’re thinking I bought the wrong truck, I can assure you as a downhill mountain biker from Cali, I test the trucks capabilities and may end up jacking it up anyway. Plenty of smiles per gallon coming fro an ex-FX4 and FJ cruiser driver.

know how I know that you haven't accepted that regardless of cost, offroad trucks get knicks, cuts, gouges, pinstripes, etc on them?

If you powder coat a wheel, once the finish is compromised, you pay to refinish it again.

If you just plastidip the wheels black, touchups are $2.99. The plastidip will also protect the factory finish, and powerwashes off in 5 mins.

Not sure who you're trying to impress with " inexpensive solutions are for hondas", but I think you're a little too wrapped up in what other people think. A little short-sighted if you ask me.

Then again you probably feel that fixing a " 60+K truck" with zip ties, hose clamps and/or duct tape is blasphemy too. Guess what? AAA doesn't have tow coverage in the middle of the wilderness. Every $750K prerunner that I've ever seen has zip ties and duct tape on board. Plastidip makes for an excellent insulation product for wire chafes too.

That high horse that you're on? its knees look a bit wobbly.
It’s not for my truck and it looks bad and cheap on yours.

I didn’t realize a pressure washer would take it off, that’s pretty neat.

I didn’t get personal. You don’t need to either.

Yesterday I dipped some '19 takeoffs I bought. Cost was $26, 4 cans of dip and a can of cleaner. No idea how it's going to hold up, but they all came out great. Used 1 can on each rim. I prefer the flat black over the gunmetal color they were.IMG_4511.JPG

Nice work shadow...
Thanks. :)
Posting mostly because some have pmd me about my Arb compressor and dual batt setup.

I did add 2 circuit breakers (not in the kit) one from the isolator, and one next to the 2nd battery. The kit came with 20 foot 7 awg power wire, which I routed from bed to stock battery location via the right side frame rail underneath.
Oh, in case anyone missed it, this is the isolator/ charger kit I installed:

if you can find the pastidip on my raptor from the pictures I've posted in the past, I'll give you $1000. No hard feelings here, just don't look down your nose at ideas and logical substantiation of said ideas and all will be right with the universe.
