Tailgate Step cover replacement

Has anyone heard of anyone replacing that cheap plastic cover on the tailgate for the step. Mine has been ripped off so many times that all the tabs are broken. What a lame *** design. Hoping someone has found a fix for it

I have 2 spare plastic pieces in boxes. As crazy as it sounds I was thinking about putting few black aluminum pop rivets in. It gets frustrating.

Use some silicone or seam sealer. That should hold it down and let you remove it later if you really need to.

My first one was the same as yours and kept falling off every day. I ordered a replacement off of eBay and haven’t fallen off once yet in 8 months.
