New raptor owner here. Started the truck remotely with the app and it ran for a few minutes. When I got in and started it for real I then plugged in my phone. Car Play didn't start and I couldn't figure out how to force it to run. Tried unplugging the phone and back in several times and still no car play. When I reached my destination I turned the car off and back on and plugged the phone in and it started up. This happen to anyone else? Is there a menu item I need to press to get car play to start if it doesn't automatically?

I’m having issues with 20. I have to factory reset the system to get it to connect if I unplug the phone while the truck is off.

I had it happen once since I got the car in June - just as you described. Happened 2 weeks ago. I didn't remote start it, so it isn't related to that. The phone might have been locked the first time I plugged it in (can't confirm), but it definitely was unlocked on the retries - no luck. Powering off, waiting for the screen to turn off and restarting didn't allow it to connect either. Only when it sat off at my destination for a couple hours did it reconnect after I started it up. Hope it isn't a "feature" of a new Synch release.

Phone was unlocked when I connected it. Really hope this isn't an issue we have to wait a year to get fixed.

yeah, me too. ’17 here, was wazing somewhere and stopped for gas, did not unhook the phone. started the truck, no waze, no phone disconnect/connect success, had to go by the phone until the next stop. you have to connect once the truck is started apparently(?) I think there’s also a star alignment component for CarPlay to work successfully too.
