Can you put a 19-20 tailgate "FORD" panel on a 17-18?

I like the look on the 19+, i have a 18 tailgate applique, and want to do a swap. Is this fairly simple to switch?

Do you mean swapping just the applique or the whole tailgate? The tailgate yet, the applique not sure, I would imagine they are the same aside from the aesthetic difference - maybe order one and see if it is returnable if it doesn't work?

just the "FORD" applique. Never seen anyone done it yet.

What's the difference? The only thing I noticed that's different is the FORD letters are a lighter grey on the 2019-20 applique. If so, it would be easier and cheaper to put vinyl overlays on your applique.

Any pics showing the difference? I have not noticed anything different on the 19/20s so it must be subtle.

that may be the most economic way to do it. but i'm worried thru washes the edges will lift and catch the fiber on the cloth?
