No throttle response today

Was just cruising on the freeway in my 14 Roush Screw earlier today, 45k miles, pedal commander, and all the sudden the wrench graphic popped up and throttle response was non existent. It felt like limp mode but didn't alarm or slow down, no apparent misfires, no other changes really. To accelerate I had to put the pedal on the floor and even then it didn't downshift. Just kinda 5% throttle feeling. Any thoughts? Turned the truck off and on and drove home without it happening again. Drove another hour tonight with no problems either. Would love to get ahead of this.

Beware the peddle com. Same thing happened to my 18 couple of times. Took it off and all’s good now.. Had the com. For about a year, enjoyed it but not when it screws up like that. Just be aware that could be the issue. How long have you had the com.?

Pedal commander. The majority of aftermarket companies are not even close to understanding or replicating OEM programming, especially with something as complex as throttle control. They crack one line of code and then apply the same theory to the entire algorithm, thinking that they've outsmarted the manufacturer.

I had to remove my PC because my truck would go into a limp mode... once I pulled the PC, no issues at all! Plus I'm getting better gas mileage

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

One thing first, "the pedal commander does not access the PCM".
It only amplifies voltage going to the Throttle Body.
The TB voltage range is 0 being closed to 5 volts wide open.
So lets say you set the pedal commander to it's highest setting,
when you depress the go pedal a quarter down,
it will enhance the signal to the PCM to use 3 to 4 volts to the TB instead of variable 1 to 1 1/2 to 2 volts.

I have a question, are you guys running a Tune to go with the pedal Commander?
A proper Tune will eliminate/turn off the 3,500 rpms safety feature before opening full throttle.

Incase you didn't know, Ford has a safety built in the OEM Tune to not allow full throttle till 3,500 rpms.
So if you turn up the pedal commander to high (like stated earlier)
The Pedal Commander will throw the TB plate too wide open before 3,500 rpms.
The PCM is going to think something is wrong.

P/C has had a cult following for a while here and most seem to work without incident but a few users have eventually had some faults and from reports it’s just been a sudden onset.

I think @FordTechOne is pointing out that just because you found the throttle input signal, doesn’t mean you’re done. There could be linked / branched function based off the throttle--output-- signal P/C or other “throttle output controllers” don’t account for. There could even be Raptor unique issues.

I can easily see setting the P/C to max causing potential issues with “out of range” values. I had this happen when I first started mucking about with My Ducati. it started with O2 manipulators. - they worked on the previous model year but I put them on and of course, by the time I got the thing to fuel properly below 4500 rpms, I had the check engine light. At least on the bike it doesn’t do anything other than annoy you with the dash lamp. I had to tune it and even then it never fueled properly below 4500.
