Hello, I found this forum because i have been searching for the answer to my 2017 Raptor’s hard shift into drive. I’m glad I’m not alone. Ford resets it and things are ok for about 4000 miles. They blame me though. They are saying the transmission is learning to shift hard into drive because of aggressive driving behavior. That doesnt even make sense. It shifts fine from gears 1-10. I got pretty upset with them. I use my Raptor to take my 6 and 12yr olds to school and to commute to work. Im a very cautious driver. Had my fun at the Raptor Assault School in Utah, not doing that stuff to my Raptor...Has anyone found a permanent fix for this issue yet? Has Ford admitted that it is a problem? Im concerned about it falling out of warranty and them being even less helpful.
Thank you for your time

i reset my adaptive learning via forscan about 1500 miles into it im good, knock on Wood...my truck would Lurch forward or backward depending on drive or reverse from park. The reset stopped that as well

With it being an electronic issue that goes away and then relearns, would a Cobb tcm be able to eliminate it?

Ford also told me it was because of aggressive driving... Was the first time in my life I almost yelled at an employee.

So, do they mean to suggest you’re aggressively parking? Since, after all, you’re coming out of Park and into Drive. what, are they suggesting you’re doing neutral drops at full throttle?

See the video illustrating a rough shift into Drive:

In the past, to solve this, I’d reset the pcm learning algorithm every month or two (disconnecting the battery). In its unlearned configuration it works smoothly. After 1-2 months the issue would start to creep back up and I’d do it again. Rinse and repeat. The TSB ( which I had done) I thought permanently had fixed it as I haven’t had the problem at all for about five or six months.

Here it is again though. It might seem minor in the video but believe me it is VIOLENT inside the cab. *Something* is going to break, eventually. Possibly my neck.

I’ve had two trips to Ford over this and both times they’ve simply reset the pcm and sent me on my way. That is their “fix.”

Edit: here is another video

Anyone else have this return? 2017 raptor scab

Do you still have these videos?

I'd like to watch them but it won't let me...thanks!
