'14 Screw in Tampa Area

Hello friends,

I came across my dream Raptor. Its a '14 Screw w/ deadlocks, in blue and has the blue highlighted interior. Here is the link from AutoTrader:

The truck is located at Lokey Motor Company in Clearwater, Fl. I'm from NJ. I'm hoping one of the previous two owners of this rig is on here and can give me some details about the rig. Now that its been traded in there is no reason not to spill the good, bad and ugly about her.

Or, if anyone is on here from the Tampa area and wants to help a fellow Raptor enthusiast out, I could really use someone to go give it a look and make sure its up to *****. I'd hate to fly down to Florida and find out that the pictures are just photo magic.

Fingers crossed on the previous owner being on here, or someone who knows them.

Perhaps someone from the Tampa area could suggest a trusted shop that I can pay to have pick up the truck and give it an inspection?

I won't be in that region for another 2 weeks, unfortunately.

Certainly looks like a nice truck based on the pics/listing; it even had the blue interior upgrade package option. Definitely get someone to check it out for you...

Thanks for the reply John. I'm not on the southeast page but, turns out my brother in law's wife's cousin is a mechanic in the area. He told me to have it sent to a Ford dealership to have the codes scanned.

Only hiccup now is that I am not going to be able to fly down for at least a month. Unfortunately, I think I may have to let this one go. I did find out that they took it in on trade for $39k.

After sleeping on it, I don't want to let this one go. I'm always overthinking it when it comes to money. I've wanted a Raptor for too long now and I need to just go for it. This rig is exactly what I want, from every option, color and mileage.

I emailed the dealership asking for extra pictures of the (1) undercarriage, with attention to the skid plates; (2) engine bay, with one pic of the uncovered fuse box; (3) all 4 Fox shocks and (4) rocker panels.

If the pics come through and look good I am going to have a Ford dealership pick up the truck and do an inspection on it (unless anyone has a better spot to reach out to). If its still a green light after that, I'll put a deposit down on it and fly down.

Did you end up buying the truck?

Unfortunately not; they sold it the day after the salesman called me back. He called me again the day after I emailed him asking for the pictures to let me know.

The search continues...

Ahhh sorry to hear, same thing happened to me. Everything happens for a reason i guess.
