2020 Sync 3 Update

Nope didn’t touch Forscan before upgrading. The only reason why I knew that the Forscan settings were retained after the upgraded was because of the UK settings. I had previously set my region to UK so that I can use my nav while in motion. I can change it to U.S. in Forscan and get the e-911 feature back... but I chose to keep it in UK. XM and HD radio still functions normally.

Did you use the USA download when doing the 3.4 upgrade or the UK one?

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

Strange I just got off the phone with ford support and I cannot update my 19 to 3.4 according to them. The website seems to confirm this. They looked up my VIN 2x and said I have the latest version my particular VIN.

Maybe because it’s not officially available to us yet. I’m gonna have to update my ‘19 via this hack method. Doesn’t sound like 3.4 will be available officially for a long while.

Well...I updated my 2019 to 3.4 via the hack file.
It works just fine but hopefully I won’t regret doing so for the sake of future upgrades offered from the Ford Site. I have the updated from Ford site as you show already downloaded to a USB stick but decided to do the hack instead. By doing this ..... you cant report back to the site that you’ve updated and will not know when update for your VIN is availability in the future.
Those are my thoughts.
Wondering what would happen if Go ahead and go back and do the 3.3 update from the Ford site after already doing the 3.4 hack.
The 3.4 hack works great and actually has a few enhancements.... but I’m not really digging the bright blue colors of the buttons on the bottom of the screen.
The color does not fit my Raptor interior like the old colors do.
Afraid to mess something up so I’ll stick with the 3.4 hack I have...I guess

Did not know this before.... but there are actually updates (build updates) within each version. In other words... you can updated your version from the Ford site.
Perhaps the 3.4 Version hacks are not really intended for our particular Raptor VIN..
Maybe im way off cause the 3.4 hack i put in my truck does work.
Maybe Im overthinking

The update wasn’t intended for Sync 3.0 due risk of fubaring the APIM during the update. Not everyone understands “do not unplug the USB drive while the OS is being reinstalled onto the blank hard drive because it will cause a fatal error”. On your laptop it’s your problem, on the truck, it becomes the dealer’s problem.

it also wasn’t intended for US Customers because it contains new maps, that Ford sells to US customers at a hefty fee.

Has anyone had issues formatting their USB drives using exFAT rather than 32FAT? My thumb drives are exFAT

This might be a stupid question but I pretty much only use my head unit in CarPlay mode. I have v3.3 on a 2019 and am curious if the move to v3.4 has any updates that make CarPlay either better or different.
