So who's heading to Baja next week for the 1000?

Heading down to Ensanada Thurs morn early..We usually stay on the Pacific side race day...not sure exactly but below Urapan, Santo Thomas...sometimes down around Endira Beach (excuse my poor spelling)
This weekend we will spend time pouring over the map for possible sites to spectate....

Might roll down from S. Ca late Fri since they delayed the race 1 day. The silt beds/mud pits are going to be epic with the 2 days of rain we've had!

Damn, I'd nearly kill to go see that race and to drive my truck on small parts of it.

Having driven my Raptors from NY to Utah and back twice, I can't imagine how much further that would be. I'd also love to drive to Alaska and on that highway that goes to the end.

Enjoy.

if I drove straight to San Felipe from New Orleans, I would roll up to el kiki riki for al pastor at about lunchtime on the third day. (if I did 10 hours of driving per day on the first two).

I usually go New Orleans to San Diego and stop for the night in Dallas, then Las Cruces before rolling into SD. Exo pushes out for the Baja Runs from SD.

it is a lot of driving, but after the first trip, I realized how worth it the adventure is and don't mind it. I'm more grateful for the opportunity to have these sorts of adventures than anything.

Heading back from Baja as we speak! I’ll post some pictures in a few. One thing I found kinda cool on a side note was that the Bronco R uses the same non live valve Fox 3.0 coilovers that is available for the raptor! I though that was pretty cool.

Back now....came home yesterday...
We ran from Santo Tomas down to Erindira beach, about 30 muddy miles!
Took over an hour to get the undercarriage cleaned up..ha...ha...
Watched the start of the TT's....and then ran for the border...

I wish I had seen this thread earlier! I was down there Friday-Sunday.

Erindira beach for the trophy trucks, back to ensenada for some food and out to just north of San Felipe area at about 11pm.

Unfortunately after waiting in line for 30 min. at the border on Sunday morning, I was sent back to Mexico to wash my truck. A quick wash in TJ and then 2 hours to get across. :-(

I did that same stretch earlier this year during the 500 (when it was dry)- from Erindira to Santo Tomas via the Rancho Embarcadero road.

I can't imagine doing it in the mud!
