Don't be "THAT GUY" and park in 2 spaces at one time in a Raptor

The Raps are simply big for today's parking spots. At one restaurant I frequent often, I park at the end of a row in the "No parking zone" (There's still plenty of room to get around me) because I don't fit in the regular spots and if I did - no one would be able to get in and out of their cars around me. I'm sure most look at me as a ********* and I'm waiting to show up on the local "Bad Parking" twitter feed but I'm actually doing it to accommodate others.

I've also learned not to get upset over others parking. I can't control their parking and the car parked poorly might have just been trying to park next to someone else who parked poorly to being with.

This. Besides the point that I don't really care to get bent out of shape because of other people's parking, I don't know the full story of why they parked the way they did.

Not sure who "they" is, but I've been in the site development business for 30+ years and in general, nobody is making anything any smaller.

95% of new parking spaces are 9'x18' just like they were 30 years ago. Nearly all of the rest are 10'x18' or 9'x20' (180 SF minimum required), and every now and then you will see the rare 10'x20' requirement. Those are typically out in the county where big trucks are the norm.

These sizes are for 90 degree, perpendicular parking. Angled and parallel are obviously different.

The spaces are wide enough at 9' IMO, but 18' is not long enough for a Screw 150. 18*12=216 inches. A 5.5' box Screw is 232 inches.

It's expected that most retail establishment parking lots outside of dense city areas will never be full except for one or two days a year, and that over sized vehicles can park out in the edges of the lot where normal people won't park because they don't want to walk that far.

I always park far out in any lot, not matter what I'm driving. I don't like door dings and the extra walk is good for you. I just take one space though. When there's no one within 25 spaces of you, there's no need to take up two spaces.

So I think this is perfectly acceptable. You aren’t infringing on anyone else’s space by using a little curb. So I say no foul on this one!

Maybe where you live, but the variance where I live in widths of parking spaces is very notable. At Costco, I have tons of room on both sides; but in a certain retail park in Dartmouth, NS; the lines touch my tires on both sides.

Well, you are in Canada, so it's just all kinds of crazy up there.
