Thanks! I can speak to BD lights vs lightforce and KC, but i just don't see many, if any, trucks on my desert runs with vision-x. There is no difference in the function on my bd lights, after all the abuse when compared to a new light. Ive been thrashing these particular XLs for about 2 years.

You cant go wrong with BD. Ive continued to go with them for all my lighting needs due to my experience. ( I just bought 4 LP6s and some S1s from 4x4truckLEDs.com for my super duty.)

there is a distance difference that is noticeable on the XL80s and XL racers. If I was only running a single pair, I'd probably run the racers, but switch the lenses to combo yellows.

you'd be amazed at how much of an effect the airflow limitation can be, even in cold weather, when you're banging the truck off the limiter for a couple of hours. the gen2s run hot from the factory and it isn't difficult to get them over 230 when bone stock.
I agree with you that BD lights are awesome pieces of engineering! Just because not many people are running vision x anymore, doesnt mean they aren't a good product or that their new products aren't equal or better than BD (I'm not sure if they are or aren't). Did you get 4 driving combo LP6's? Please post some pics when you get them installed if you don't mind! When paying this much money for lights, I for one want the best bang for buck and I'm not brand loyal.

Depends on what your definition of "cold" is. Lol. The OP is going to be putting these on a 4th gen Ram Hemi and in my experience (my brother has had a couple) they do not run warm even when towing heavy (for a half ton) up steep grades even with blocking openings with light bars. On my Ram 3500 I've blocked my entire intercooler opening and have bumper mounted driving lights pulling 12,000 lbs up steep grades with no change in performance or temps in 34°C. (Full disclosure, I don't have a gen 2 raptor). My 2013 F-150 5.0 always ran hot with or without auxiliary lights. The only time it over heated was with no blocking of air what so ever. I didn't see any difference in temps with or without lights. These are just my experiences. Obviously yours differ. Good to know that these trucks run a little warm. Having twin turbos and pushing a lot of power in a small engine, it makes sense that all the airflow you can get, the better.

Now a days, who knows who is #1. The lack of amateur and/or professional reviews/ comparisons makes the buying experience challenging. When I first got on this forum a few years ago, you couldn’t get people to stop talking about VisionX. It seemed like everyones Raptor had a pair of cannons on the A pillars. Heck, I bought my first pair of VisionX light cannons from a 10 member group buy on this forum.

When was the last time a group guy was done on here for lighting? Who knows. But I haven’t seen a vendor do one for BD. That was how hot VisionX was then. Which was only a few years ago. Everyone was recommending VisionX and that led me to buy the XPR.

Now fast forward, all I here about on here is BD. No one else. Not even Rigid. Remember when Rigid was “The shit” before they sold themselves off. Now, they product a bunch of tacky crap.

BD is the word on the block for good reason. Because of this forum is why I gave them a shot, sold my XPR to my buddy, bought an ONX+ and slept in the dog house for a night or two. The products are nice. I think VisionX fell off the scene due to lack of forum vendors and promotions. Go on their social media page and they are always posting desert racing photos. Even podium finishes from teams they sponsor. Just like BD.

You post is great. So many options out there it is crazy. Who knows who is better. More people need to start doing amateur reviews.

I agree, I wish more people who buy these lights would put up pictures/Videos and reviews after owning them short and long term. BD and Vision X I think are the top 2 currently but there are other good options out there as well. Not many people own both brands of similar lights to compare them either and both brands are heavy into R&D which only makes things harder to compare as technology improves almost day by day. I don't think you can go wrong with BD or Vision x. They both offer high end products with great warranties, top BIN LED's which are the latest and greatest. I just don't know which brand I want.

I got my Vision X lights in September as hunting season was starting, I was lucky to find time to install and get a photo. I have a road trip planned next week, and a new gopro arriving tomorrow. I’m planning to remove the S8 bar before I travel but I’ll try and get a color comparison shot first.

Awesome! Thank you very much! If it's not too much to ask would you be able to take a photo of just 1 ADV on vs 1 single LED vs 1 multi LED cannon? Or the pair of ADV's vs a single and a multi LED? If it's a hassle to unplug them because you have all the wires and connectors zip tied up out of the way, please don't worry about it at all. I don't want to take up your time.

The Wires and plugs are all up out of the way but I have the Pair of Multi LED cannon on one switch, the pair of ADV on another switch and the single LED on it's own switch. I'll take a board to block the second light when needed so you can get an idea of each individual light. When I hit the trigger wire all the lights come on. SP-9100

Just to close this out. I wanted a distance thrower. I never thought that would have changed to a distance thrower plus a back light hahaha.
Even after the BD Black Friday promotion, the LP series was just priced out of my reach. Maybe some other time. I elected to buy the VisionX ADV light cannons. Which came in a bit cheaper.
