2020 Sync 3 Update

Got me. I know I’m at the latest. Truck build was mid August, so pretty sure it came at the current. So I will just wait to hear if and when others start to see 3.4 show up either at ford owner’s site or if it gets delivered to the truck OTA.

I would love to get some clear facts on how Ford is working this, but it seems pretty impossible.

Might FordTechOne have knowledge on this?

I’m a private school guy and I’m still clueless! Trading for a 2020.

You can’t download version 3.4 the only one out is 3.3 and that’s available to download from ford owners site with your vin. The 3.4 version is out on the newer 2020 fords and the only way the raptors as of now can have it is through a hack.

Crazy question...

If we are downloading this Sync from a website, can we download any updates to the ECU from the website also? For example, transmission updates and etc.

Sync updates are the only updates Ford will release. ECU, etc have to be dealer applied from all I learned.

shame we can't mix and match. Get rid of this trash transmission on the Gen 2, get the Ram interior and I dunno what Chevy has but....they have it lol.

Most of the instructions are for people with older Sync (before 3.2). If you scroll to the bottom it says “- If you have a current Ford vehicle which is either Sync 3 Version 3.2 or Version 3.3 just perform this step...” which is just download Sync 3.4 to a USB and install it.

I haven’t tried it but will probably soon.
