If you have been following automotive news then you will know that Ford will be entering the Baja 1000 with a semi production ish new Bronco.

Ford executives have been giving lots of interviews and if you listen carefully, they are saying the new Bronco will be using a six cylinder EB but did not specify which one. BTW .. the racing bronco is using a 6cyl EB as their race engine with a 10speed auto.

There are only 2 six cylinder EBs:

2.7L EB >> 325 HP and 400 lb.-ft. of torque
3.0L EB >> 400 HP and 415 lb.-ft. of torque ... this engine is new and currently being used the Explorer ST. The rumor is that the next gen F150 will have this engine as an option.

I know what you are thinking, what about the 3.5L EB ... I think this engine is going bye bye.

SO ... I really hope the new bronco will be using the new 3.0L EB. Ford has already said, the Bronco will compete with the Wrangler and the Wrangler is way down on power. The new Bronco with either engine above will run circles around the Jeep.

If the production model is something similar in shape and offers a 2 door version like the pic above, count me in.

Well it will be interesting to see what the new Bronco looks like. January maybe?

NAIAS has been moved to June starting in 2020, I had heard they were looking into moving the date and they have. reasoning is manufacturers were bailing on the January show because of the weather. so we will have to wait until then.

what about the 3.5L EB ... I think this engine is going bye bye.

IF they do replace the 3.5 with the 3.0 then who the f@%k knows what the next gen Raptor will have lol. I read on a few pages the 3.0 is Ford's hybrid system with a 100KW motor producing 444hp.

Oh gee why doesn't it have a V8, they put a NEW EB V6 right? Another one eh? Not so many new Ford V8's in the pipeline eh? So many Ford Fanboys got made @ me saying essentially that Ford has relegated itself to being #3 in the domestic V8 crowd, & doesn't seem to care either as they're producing great tt 4's & 6's w/ plenty of power/efficiency & plenty of buyers lol

If you don't like the EB power plants then don't buy a Ford. Vote with your wallet and not with your words.

I owned a GEN1 Raptor for 6.5 years and I think the Gen2 Raptor is better in every way. More HP and torque and better MPG. I have no complaints.

BTW .. I test drove the Rebel and holly hell that truck is slow.
