Cooler tie-downs?

How are y’all securing coolers into the bed of your truck? Not anti-theft necessarily but more so that it stays put when off roading and having fun. Yeti offers this but doesn’t look very strong with just screws. Maybe fashion a back plate and use bolts and lock nuts?

Works very well and super easy to install. Inexpensive also.

Looks pretty good. I like the flexibility of moving the rings. Are the tracks secured by screws into the aluminum bed or are they bolted on the under side?

They provide the option for both. I used nuts/bolts where it was easy to get to and the self tappers for when they were in the cross member. Strong hold too you won't yank that shit out.

I had custom bars made with tabs that work with my Alpha One rack and TMX bed stabilizers. Bars held with the bed bolts on both ends. Then I use regular ratchet straps because the Pelican cooler I have has that in the design and still allows you to open the cooler, just like Ox is showing in his picture. Works awesome.

One thing nice about the $70 tracks is they lay flush with the bed grooves as well. That way stuff still sits flat in the bed and is useable.

Haven't had my cooler strapped down but I put d-rings on the bed bolts. That would probably work for you're looking for and its cheap.

I have this in my Jeep. I wound up rigging up some different straps, but those straps are plenty strong. As long as the little brackets are secure, it's going to hold. I rolled my Jeep and the cooler didn't budge. There's an off brand on Amazon that's the same thing but cheaper.

I really like the Core Trax. I think I may get them. Is there any product out there that provides a rust protection coating for the holes you drill to mount stuff like this? I’m thinking paint probably won’t work well in this application, especially when you are tapping into the sheet metal. Or just F-it and don’t worry about it?
