How worth is it to upgrade? Noticeable performance gains?!? I’m already running SPD DP’s, Adaptors, AFE Magnum, NGauge, MPT tunes.... Should I spend another $1000 on an intercooler?!
INTERCOOLER THOUGHTS? Are they worth it?? Noticeable improvement?

I'm thinking about getting one for no other reason than the stock unit is metal with plastic crimped to it. At some point that is going to leak, just like radiators. I want a solid, one piece unit.

Your truck may make 450whp in perfect conditions on a cool 55 degree day w/ 30% humidity, but after a series of hard WOT runs, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, running off-road in 4wd hard in 80+ degree weather, etc etc your peak power will star dropping as IATs rise, the ECM will lull timing to prevent knock & protect engine & you’ll start making less power until your down quite a bit & the truck rests/cools down.
An aftermarket intercooler will help alleviate this issue & help feed the turbos consistency cool dense air

FWIW I'm getting a CVF unit b/c I like that it fits perfectly in the stock location (less attention drawn from Ford techs + doesn't compromise the airflow/cooling of the radiator/engine bay) - only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet is I live in MA & we're already into cooler temps - heat soak/high IAT's not really a concern for a while - I'll let the stocker get pummeled by road salt & sand for another season before I put some nice aftermarket piece in its place.

I too have ordered the CVF intercooler set-up. I am out of town working, but hope to get it installed in the near future. I also purchased a BOV with the package. I don't know that I will need it, but I figure that since I am down there I might as well. CVF is also not as expensive at <600 dollars, seemingly a quality setup, and much easier to install. If you are not going to increase the boost drastically, I think this intercooler is ideal.
I noticed a disparity in temps since running a tune, and I have my guage set-up to display intake temp and charge air temp. In hot FL, and in boost, the temperature can climb drastically, when you already have 100+ degree intake air. I don't like that. I think it should be much closer to what the intake air temp is. That is why I am getting a CVF intercooler. Everybody that has purchased says it is quality unit.

Good call on doing the bov at the same time.
I installed my intercooler, then had to take it back out and reinstall a few days later to fit the fans, then like 2 weeks later I got a used bov and had to take it out a third damn time.

Not sure why people user aftermarket BOVs - I've seen nothing but issues with them on this forum.

I am not really sure what you are in reference too. The reason for BOV primarily, in my opinion, is to replace a plastic BOV factory with a heavier duty metal one. This would be able to hold more boost if desired, and possibly last longer due to more robust construction. I know right now I don't plan on boosting more, but I also didn't plan on doing any mods to my truck.
Then I got the tune and intake, and that was going to be it... then I see the charge temps and wind up with intercooler and BOV.... Also thinking I might need to get a catch can as well... At this point, I am just accepting the fact that anything is possible and trying to be prepared. The sky is the limit.
