GEN 2 Always rip off tailgate step panel

Does anyone else have a problem ripping off that flimsy tailgate step cover when loading or unloading your truck. I’ve gone through 3 already. I’m thinking about putting some pop rivets in it.

Huh. I drag folding ladders and other shit out of mine on a daily basis, nothing but some scratches in the plastic. Lucky I guess.

I knock mine off all the time stepping down... typically can bang it back on

I’ve never had one pop off on my 16 F150 nor my Raptor yet, but there were times when I was sure it was gonna be ripped off by something while unloading.
But I have friends that have broken theirs a few times as well just by loading dirt bikes or lumber

Mine always comes off. I can hit it back into place too but it’s kinda loose

Never had an issue with mine but I have the factory ramps that lock on to the tailgate so they “protect” the cover with a lip. Definitely dinged that up quite a bit already.

Yes, my panel has ripped off at least a dozen times. Now half of the tabs are broken. I'm considering trimming down the edges when I order a replacement to see if it cuts down on catching things.

Mine has not ripped off but Im careful not to let stuff hang on the edge of it. The plastic is all scratched up though.

yes if you slide something heavy like a fridge it comes right off - ask me how I know.

The bed rug has helped by getting rid of the lip when sliding big items out.
