check out the sale of r8s on autotrader and etc...

and the new NSX does not do it for me... just like the LFA and the new corvette..

Yeah I was curious b/c I’ve always liked them (R8s) - love how Audi somehow balanced a borderline exotic/supercar design w/ daily driver level comfort/amenities.

Expensive all around tho.

LFA didn’t perform in line w/ the price tag, looked/sounded the part though.

NSX - from what I hear drives effortlessly- almost too much, performance bar is quite high but doesn’t really have an “identity” if that makes any sense- too bad it doesn’t have a manual option since Honda makes the best (from the factory) IMO. I understand you can get $20-$60k off new ones depending on timing & sticker price. I think the idea of the car was along the lines of the R8, but they missed the mark.

C8 corvette? Jury’s still out yet for me- have yet to see one in person, need to drive it. I have no problem w/ the drastic design change I just think it really deserve a new model designation. It may turn out to be the best vehicle GM has ever produced, but it ain’t a corvette....if they were smart they’d keep churning out “regular” C7 style front engine vettes mostly unchanged for a few more years while charging more for base C8 & just simultaneously padded their wallets from both ends.

At any rate- good luck w/ your R8 man it is very clean looking & awesome color combo.

R8 is a decent bang for buck. v10 over v8, only because of the sound it makes when you add a proper exhaust. Otherwise get the v8 and TT it.

LFA, entirely too stupid expensive, sounds like a marvel though.

NSX, looks ultra REGULAR

C8, who let their kid go to "corvette" day and say, "momma momma, I want that Ferrari." Son, that is a corvette... " oh, sure looks like a Ferrari momma" LOL. K... that is going to get the pot boiling..... haha

I can’t stand the LFA, or the NSX. Both fugly. But I hate Toyotas and Hondas in general. Would never own one. To me, they are the antithesis of a driver’s car.

Yeah yeah, they are high performance cars, and the LFA sounds good. Yes, I am aware of the Supra. No thank you very much.

Love the R8 though.

The wife’s 20 model Denali XL. Currently looking for some bolt-on performance mods after deciding the Lingenfelter/Hennessey packages are too much of an extravagance...

Whats it like owning an R8 in terms of maintenance costs and reliability? Is it similar to owning a typical audi or is more along the terms of a porsche/ferrari/lambo?

The ******* problem is that... Its an Audi by stamp/VIN/badging, but its a Lambo by cost and maintenance and underlying parts :(

I was given a lovely looking r8 but a maintenance scare. When I received her, it was leaking oil from the oil pump shaft seal, needed intake solenoids and flaps and sensors and shortly after all that was taken care of, the RTRONIC pump went.

While those things were taken care of, I did some pre-maintenance work also.

I've spent 9k on maintenance in a year, but its got 70k and the typical engine is only good for about 120k. I do believe the v10 will break before the v8 will.
