Gen 2 OE rear shocks on gen 1

Bringing this one back from the dead. We just bought a 2010 that had Gen 2 shocks installed before we purchased. The front felt like it was bottoming on the shaft bump stop or something when hitting good size dips in the road. It looks like it has about 1.25" of down travel before it contacts the jounce bumper on the shock shaft. Looks like the Gen 1 spring, jounce bump stop and hardware were used.

The front does not feel like my '18 at all when it hits dips. I am certain it is hitting the shock bump stop regularly. Thinking about trimming some off the shock bump stop. If we get into doing real Raptor stuff with it, we will probably go back to some new Gen 1 shocks with the proper travel for the suspension.

Anyone trimmed up the bump stop?

Pretty sure it is the longer body of the Gen 2 shock causing the issues. You can shorten the bump, but in the stock Gen 1 bucket the Gen 2 shock body is simply too long. If you push it you will damage things that can't be easily fixed. Either shove Gen 1 fronts back in it or put in the taller KHC front towers to match the Gen 2 shock bodies.
