Mine does the same only on the first shift of a drive but only if going forward first. When I back out of my driveway and then go forward it doesn't happen. Let me know if you find the fix.
My service advisor is getting me a copy of all my repair work done.
I'll see what the last "fix" was.
I was also told that the iwe was bad and it was keeping the truck from finishing the trans learning process and that contributed to the issue I'm having.

Have they cleared the adaptive tables on the trans? My 5th gear did the same for awhile. Cleared the adaptive tables with FDRS and it resolved my issue. These transmissions learn funky stuff sometimes.

Slightly related sidetrack, mine slams into 5th in sport mode and flares a little shifting up into 8th in regular and sport modes. I had the reflash done earlier, and I assume dealer reset the adaptive tables at that time. It seemed to fix everything for some time, but eventually back to how it was before.

It looks like the autoenginuity scanner has the ability to reset the tables. Is it an ongoing thing for you, or did you reset once and done?

Also, if the trans was actually slipping enough to do that, your truck would throw a wrench light.

You sure about that? My understanding is the light only turns on is when the fault is in some way related to emissions. Maybe times have changed, but my first OBDII vehicle completely lost the 3rd gear clutch pack and never had any lights come on.

This is very normal for a cold start up. Engine temp and trans temp were no where near operating values. There truck is doing all kinds of things to make sure it works best without breaking.

Do the same video when everything is warm and your results will be much different.

Alright guys, check out my video.

I've been going back and forth with Ford about the transmission in my truck.

I say its slipping they say its normal, the short version is when it shifts from 3rd to 4th it flares up an bangs the next gear.

Am I crazy??

Beware poor camera work

This is exactly what my truck does. They have flashed, cleared the adaptive, etc.

It’s always the first shift and they seem to think it’s normal. If you’re not careful and it does it under load up a slight incline it’ll feel like it’s going to rip the transmission out.

I also avoid Sport mode entirely. Every shift SLAMS into gear even with minimal throttle input from me. It’s very much...nerve racking.

I love Sport mode. The shifts are abrupt, but compared to a DCT, nothing to write home about. My DCT slams my head against the rest on upshifts under throttle; it's a beautiful thing. The Raptor is trying to deliver a quick shift, and it does a fine job at it. This is a street legal race truck--it's supposed to be an axe murderer, not a nanny. If you are driving in sport mode, get on it and drive that bitch. It's my DD mode, and I love it. That said, I'm looking forward to the tune at the end of my break in, which I understand will manage the tranny better and deliver smoother shifts, but whatever.

That sounds like a lame excuse goblue it should work all the time.
Plus were not talking about sub 30 degree weather(it it were I would agree with you).... it was over a 100 when that video was take .

Still no resolution to this problem, but I now have what sounds like rocks in the transmission when downshifting from 10th to 6th. Got a video of the problem but the camera mic doesn't pick up the sound....smh

Mine shifts hard in sport mode, I also use the pedal commander on city mode level 4. I like the hard shifting it reminds me of banging through the gears in a old fox body 5.0 mustang, I'm pretty sure Ford designed it this way, the truck is a God dam brute I can't imagine what a tune will be like.

Yeah I'm all for firm shifts that grab the next gear hard and fast.... but not when it sounds like stuff is broken inside the drivetrain.
