I second this recommendation. I have not noticed a significant drop with the Builtright version and can still get HD FM. AM seemed to decline a bit, but this is by no means a scientific analysis. Biggest benefit is being able to park in commercial garages. Most of them around me are around 6' 9". I have no idea if Builtright has white labeled someone else's antenna. Get their bed racks while you're at it.

I installed a WRC stubby that I bought off Amazon. I think it was less than $20 but so far reception has been fine (both AM and FM).

I use the Ronin also no problems.

Ronin .50 bmg! However, I do not listen to AM/FM.
