Was just looking at BFG’s website and Discount Tire...

discount has removed the KO2’s from their website, and BFG has the KO2’s listed as “last generation”

Is this insinuating a new all terrain to come out soon? It’s only been 4 years since the KO2’s came out so I don’t know why there would be a new gen coming out already, but just wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts were on this.

tires have a shelf life. they could be near the end. Or they could be the last batch of a production run that has a different compound.

or

could be marketing BS to sell some tires.

my other thought was maybe since the KM3’***** the KO2’s are now “last gen” for their off road tires or something. Either way it’s disappointing cause no one around here can even order 35x12.50r17 KO2’s cause BFG is saying they’re “out of stock” and I’m needing tires soon. Very sad

TireRack.com appears to have them...appears. Says 9/30/2019 availability. YMMV

You can buy them direct for BFGoodrich, they are available still.
Website is just kind of stupid, used to have much better interface years ago.
Some Brainiac probable said I can make better.

I believe it was 2016 they stopped making the D load rated that were OEM mounted for the first Gens.

Now they only Make the C and E load rated tires which are the last (latest) generation for the Raptor.

I just found out the real difference between the two load ratings.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon on top of BFGoodrich's TriGard,
3-ply polyester cord sidewall ply construction (2 plies for Load Range C tires) for strength and durability.

Weight for Load C 64.4 lbs.
Weight for Load E 64.68 lbs.
Note: these weights were taken for BGF website

And on that subject, would a c range even hold up very well on a 1st gen Raptor? These things are a bit heavier than the new ones aren’t they?

There's only a 470 lb. difference between the Gen1 and Gen2 if memory serves me correctly.
I don't know why someone would even buy the C tire for any year.
Unless saving $160 for a set is a big deal to someone.

I'd rather have a stronger sidewall for airing down and puncture resistance
