2019 that when driving in the dark starts out with the low beams on, then after about a couple of minutes the high beams come on without me doing anything? I can switch back to the low beams but I don't remember the truck having that as an option. I have a car that does that if left in "Auto" for the headlights...but I never run my truck in that mode.

Anyone else have this happen?

Your lights are set for the high beams to be automatic. If there are lights in front of you (ie oncoming traffic) they will automatically switch back to low beams.

The auto setting on the switch turns the lights on when it’s dark. Auto sensing high beams are controlled in the menus.

Never had that happen before, and I have had the truck since April? I would expect that to be the case if they were maybe left in Auto mode but I always manually operate my headlights meaning that I turn them to "On" with the knob. And if that was the case why would they switch after a couple of minutes after I am already driving when it was equally as dark when I pulled out of the driveway? My car goes to the high beams right away in Auto mode...so I guess I will need to do a few test cases and see what happens.

I don't think it's responsive enough and I felt like I was blinding people (especially on curvy mountain roads). You can turn it off in the options menu.

I agree. Also, it doesn't pick up cars perpendicular to the way you are driving so if someone is about to pull out off a side road it blinds them.

They come on and off on their own. They have been really good in my experience in detecting cars in front of me or coming in the other direction. I admit the first couple times it happened, it startled me - I didn’t know I had that option. I do like it!
