Comfort Access for rear doors on SCREW Models

Well my 1990 Porsche has reg key, my 2011 GT3RS has reg key, but when you buy a car that has a comfort access option why not to use it???

What is weird is that Ford for some odd reason decided to do it on 2d vs 4.

I would guess it's part cost savings, part of safety feature. The Raptor isn't a luxary vehicle and could be used as a family vehicle. If you've got kids in the back you don't necessarily want them to be able to unlock the doors. Yes, it's on the outside, but they could easily touch the handle when the windows are down.

As far as wiring it goes, I would guess the door locks in the rear can only receive a signal, not send, so you have to get the door handle piece as well as wiring.

It won’t be a safety issue with kids unless your kids got your keys then sure ... but that’s a different story.

The cost saving part doesn’t make much sense as it wouldn’t not be a big price difference for Ford to put 2 extra sensors. They charge insane amount for decal graphics so I would rather pay a bit more and get full car comfort access.

Yeah would be interesting to see what is the difference in wiring between front and rear doors. May have to take it apart and check it out.

I'd do this if it didn't cost a fortune. But I have no idea what is involved.

I think it was a cost decision by Ford since many other manufactures have rear door comfort access.

Keep us posted when you take it apart. It would be a nice feature to add if possible.

Can you get this sorted out and have Ford take care of the issue before I trade in my 19 in a year and half with 70k+ on it?

Or you can just press unlock on your keyfob.

Off the top of my head you would need two passenger front handle assembly and modify the one for the drivers side.
Also you would need the door wiring so you could make a new harness and piggyback the front wiring.
And after you do all that it may not work, may fry the bcm pcm acm and or flux capacitor.

But I do think it can be done .... let's try it on your truck first

My wife's Volvo XC90 has all four door comfort access. But it's touchy as hell, as the it's built into the whole door handle. Ford's design actually just works better. I wish it existed on all 4 doors.

Anyway how can I enable access for all 4 doors if I hit the driver's door first? Is the option located in the center stack somewhere? I'd be very happy just touching the drivers door to get the back open.

The open all option is in your center stack. Scroll through the options and you will see it.
