GEN 2 First oil analysis

Not sure if I should be concerned or not. This is the first time I’ve ever had an oil analysis done.

I’m guessing the silicon is just leftover from the engine breaking in (seals and what not) but the oil not lasting for 5000 miles seems off?

Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w30

This is the second oil change. First one was done at 3500 miles this is at 8500.

For all intents and purposes this is all highway miles.

You need to use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance and the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil filter.
It's more for high heat and supercharged and turbo engines.

This is why you test your oil. Even with you running a full synthetic, the data shows you need to change it after 5000 miles.

The silicon number isn’t a big deal. You mostly want to pay attention to wear metals, viscosity rating, and TBN.

After 12k miles on my AMSOIL, I still have a better viscosity rating than you and my TBN is about the same. I let my truck idle a lot. Everyone gripes about AMSOIL being more expensive. But when one has to change their oil two times to get the performance I get on one oil change, the price swings in favor of AMSOIL.

You could try the M1 extended performance to see if you can extend the OCI.

I did an oil analysis with Rotella T6 and the report recommended oil is good for about 6500 miles. I got Amsoil SS in it now and plan to do another analysis to compare the two oils.

For the climate I live in and driving conditions I typically change my vehicles at 5000 miles. That’s the sweet spot and it’s easy to remember.

5000! Not too difficult to remember... rotate your tires too.

Where are you all doing your oil analysis testing. Ive used Blackstone Labs on my BMW in the past. Is there a better option for these trucks with a bigger database for comparison. One thing I like about Blackstone is they compare your sample to like samples they get. Similar mileage on car and oil, etc... They are really popular with the e46 M3 group so they have had lots of samples to compare to.

Dirt is causing the silicone problems. Better check your intake system. Do a search for silicon in oil analysis.

I use Oil Analyzers. They have a big database too.

Penzoil Platinum, the one that has a green starburst on it that states "has been redesigned for modern Turbo charged engines"

FordTechMakuloco who is a well known Ford mechanic and is on YouTube and use to travel around the country helping folks fix Fords and now has his own shop I believe stated the this is the only oil he'd use in the Ford 3.5 L EcoBoost engine.

He really knows what he's doing and I've researched a lot of oil testing videos and this oil did very well and is right up there with Amsoil.

It's what I'm using and I think I'll send a sample off to Blackstone next oil change at 10,000 miles. First oil change was @ 5,000 miles.

Would you guys recommend motul oil as a synthetic to go with? Use it in the R1 and its smooth as hell. Wondering if it would be good for the truck. 2019 SCREW just in case it matters.
