I’ve had my 2012 since November 2012, it had 5306 miles on it when I bought it. I just rolled over 171k on it this weekend. It’s my daily driver and I’m averaging more miles on it every year. It’s all stock, and very well maintained as I am very particular on the maintenance. It has given me very little issues like the transmission valve body, 3rd brake light and the “B” pillar trim piece but that’s it so far. I’m stupid happy with it and I plan on keeping it until I physically am unable to get in and drive it. It maybe unrealistic, but my Stepdad has his 1973 F250 from 1979 to 2006 and I intend on beating that.

Okay, so your trucks will last 4ever. I do see many very old Ford pickups on road.

Engine aside for a minute, what about undercarriage rust? Body panel rust? Any?

Final question for now: we can dream can’t we? For 2021 Ford comes to its senses and goes back to a V8 in Raptor. Then you’ll get rid of it? Be honest now.

IF Ford releases a one year of a SC 5.0/5.2/7.3 whatever Raptor I still wouldn't buy it. I love the 6.2 it's the OG, besides I have a very capable truck and dont need a 100k payment as a statement piece in my driveway. That money could be better spent building a proper pre runner.

@vegascarnut haha I miss those old Eddie Bauer Broncos!

My last new truck was a 1990 GMC 1500 4x4 that I kept until getting the Raptor in 2014. This quite honestly could be the last truck I own. If they stay dependable I keep my vehicles a long time and the Gen 1 will always be king in my book! A monumental achievement by Ford that really made a statement. I don’t think the Gen 2 does that.

Nope.....I'll figure out a way to buy the new V8 whilst still keeping my beloved Gen 1. It's the first dream rig I've ever gotten to purchase. It's as good as taking a break from your wife, going back in time and porking on the first really nasty girlfriend you ever had, over and over and over. No way in hell I'll ever give this truck up.

No. Unless I was able to spend $80 grand. My truck was $43,000 and that was a strech. But I wanted one since they came out so I finallyfound one with low miles and the color I like. Happy like it is.

And yes six speed is plenty. With 10 that thing must be changing the whole time you drive. More problems I suspect?

I had my 14 from November of 2013 to November of 18. I reluctantly traded it in on an 18, the 14 had 61k on the odometer. It started showing signs of rust and I figured I would minimize my losses before the rust reared it’s ugly face. Thanks upstate NY for all the ******* salt spread in the winter. If it wasn’t for the salt induced rust I would still be driving it and wouldn’t have a truck payment.
