Currently building out a recovery kit for the truck. And while looking at all the working load limits of straps, breaking points, etc... I started to wonder: ...

Assuming safe and smart usage, are the 4 tow hooks on the raptor rated for dynamic recovery situations? Specifically with snatch straps where forces might be higher. Or are they mainly for light towing/winching?

I can't find official documentation. But the little info I have found is questionable and inconsistent. I'd hate to have a tow hook break off and go flying during a recovery situation. But I'd also prefer to avoid hitch specific and/or force distributing solutions if I don't absolutely need them, at least at first.

Still new-ish to the truck and very new to off-roading. So any info and tips is much appreciated.

I can only share my personal experience over the past 8 years of Raptor(s) ownership and having yanked plenty of trucks using the factory recovery hooks....they are rock solid, no need for concern. I have seen straps and ropes break, but never a factory hook. I do not like using a hitch/receiver type recovery option.

Making a few assumption on the recovery hooks: structural steel has a minimum yield strength of 36000 psi and an ultimate tensile strength above 60000psi. The hooks are greater that 1/4 inch squared but it makes for easy math and gives a fudge factor (actual values will be higher).
The hooks/loops might stretch with a constant 9000 pounds on it but shouldn’t break (fail) until it has a constant 15000 pounds on it. That is a constant force, quick jerks that might get that high will certainly do damage to your frame as well.
Dynamic recovery straps will reduce the stress on your recovery system.
All that said in the day and age of lawyers there would be a big yellow sticker on the hooks that say they are just for show if they were the weak link in an average recovery plan.
