@WHYUMAD it really depends on the Ford dealer. My dealer covers everything for me and it’s no where near stock anything. They like that I actually use it and it sells trucks when it’s on their lot for service. I don’t see anything that they would deny warranty for and they would need to prove the mod caused the failure. Just buy it you know you want it.

I agree that the dealer is a big factor, as my Dodge/Jeep dealer warrantied my SRT Jeep & Charger Hellcat when I had them & they were farrr from stock...but, I never had any catastrophic failure with them. Now Ford...all I had was an axleback & CAI on my GT500 years ago & it spun a bearing with about 8k miles on it. Come to find out, THEY put the wrong weight oil in it..but they literally fought me on it, sent a rep down from Detroit, tested the oil for nitrous use, etc. Finally, I got a turn key assembly from the production line put in it under warranty a month later. Then there was a clutch TSB issue that they fixed, but forgot to put transmission fluid back in & it blew 2nd & 3rd gear...I tried lemon lawing it, but yeah...left a bad taste in my mouth & I won’t use that dealer ever again.

My biggest concern is always hearing about dealers & manufacturers cracking down on mods & blacklisting vehicles, etc. 10 years ago, the industry was much more lax, but they’ve definitely gotten much stricter over the years & probably won’t lighten up in the future. I know dealerships have their tricks to get things warrantied, but the manufacturer still has the say on the warranty being honored..so they can request more detailed info, send reps down to inspect it themselves, etc. That’s my only worry because I feel my local Ford dealer I use for my company fleet is pretty laid back & would work with me. They covered half on 2 fuel contamination issues I had on relatively new 6.7L’s...after 2 others had the issue & warranty didn’t cover that. They were months apart & used in different parts of the state, so it wasn’t like they got a bad batch at the same time from a gas station. The ‘19 6.7Ls have a much more robust fuel filtration system now due to all the fuel contamination issues the previous 6.7Ls were having...

For what its worth, I've seen this truck in person. It's not perfect but definitely a lot of money already invested in it.

I work down the street from the dealer (like literally about a 1/4 mile down the road). Let me know if I can help.

EDIT: I wouldnt be very confident in warranty elsewhere on this truck. This dealer builds quite a few trucks and I'm sure they warranty them locally. They kind of have a little mini in house shop to build out and sell trucks.

If I do pursue purchasing this truck, I will definitely get with you & also if you know a local & reputable 3rd party inspector to look it over for me...I wouldn’t mind compensating you for any help as well. If you don’t mind me asking, what were the imperfections you noticed?

I’m only concerned with powertrain warranty, as I planned on modifying the suspension on whichever Raptor I decided to get. It only has an intercooler, so it’s not that bad as it had a tune or other performance mods that affect warranty.

And you’re a ******* idiot... hence why you couldn’t provide a Gen 2 with that milegae & those mods for the same price that’s supposedly “better”. You’ were just talking out of your ass the entire time, especially with that whole V8 ‘Merica spiel. I had it, I drove it, I got rid of it. WTF do you drive? Let’s see your builds...I can post a bunch of mine if you’d like. Then you can tell me how you know a guy that knows a guy... but what about you. [emoji196]☕

Edit: And holy shit!! After skimming through some of your previous posts, you are in fact one of those Ooga Booga chest pounders thinking their 6.2L Gen 1s are god’s gift to earth. Not to rain on your parade, but the 6.2L is a shit engine (I know, I boosted & built one) & cubic inches don’t mean much when you have a SOHC 2V engine. The 5.0L is lightyears ahead of the 6.2L engine. The only reason I’d pick a 6.2L over the 3.5L ecoboost is for the sound, other than that, the Gen 2 kicks the Gen 1’s ass in every other aspect...but please tell me how you can buy a 1000hp capable 6.2L (which you don’t have)..or how I can spend my money on an outdated Raptor to make it Baja capable for much cheaper. Shit, why don’t I just buy damn base 2002 F-150 & build it to get even more bang for my buck. I’m good. Keep drinking that ”...but she’s my 2nd cousin” Kool-Aid Bubba. You’re not a car guy, you’re a damn Flinstones feet powered Yabba Dabba Doo guy. [emoji1417]

Ahhh I see now where the stinger being pulled out a couple times would leave that taste and concern. Not a slam on the Gen 2 at all but the Gen 1 doesn’t have electric steering and they were going to deny warranty on a rack replacement saying my front suspension changed the geometry and caused it. They were like Ford needs the failure code and pics blah blah. This was with the Service Manager, Lead Tech and myself under the truck on a lift and I looked at them all and said this truck doesn’t have electric steering. The Service Managers mouth dropped as he looked at the Lead Tech in a manner of why the **** are we out here looking stupid getting schooled by a customer. He told the Lead Tech put a rack in no charge and pressure wash all the mud out of the seals on the old rack before you send it out. So yes they have their ways around shit. After that they do whatever now for me. Good luck whichever route you go.

Wow lol. Well I’m glad you got that cleared up & I appreciate it... Hopefully I choose the right route.

It just wasnt as clean as I would expect for a SEMA truck. It could have also been when it first got there and hadnt gone through the full clean up and inspection. The last time I saw it I was dropping my rappy off for an oil change about 2 months ago. They've had it parked out front ever since but I havent had a good close look since then.

I will say 75k for that truck with the modifications it has is definitely reasonable. 70k would be awesome. I also know nothing outside of cosmetics (I havent driven it). I could take it for a spin and look for the obvious stuff you see people moaning and groaning about on the forums. I'll see if my coworker has any 3rd party reccomendations (he goes through about 2 vehicles a year.... )

Shoot me a message if I can help. I can grab some more photos if you want a close look at anything.

I’ve seen some pretty shady SEMA trucks. If you go on youtube, they have a lot of vids of people showing trucks ghetto-rigged with zip-ties, loose hanging wires, etc. They look [emoji91] from afar, but up close..well, they were thrown together fast. Not all SEMA trucks of course, but I’m sure 707 didn’t cut corners doing it. I don’t expect it to be perfect & as long as there’s no deep scratches or dents or rock chips, I plan on getting my buddy to put 5 year paint protection on it (he uses Gyeon). I will also probably put clear bra at least on the front cap.

I’ll definitely let you know if I move forward with the truck & can notify my salesman (Andy) if I am getting someone to test drive it or anything for me. I really appreciate you reaching out & offering to do that. I’m still up in the air on it, but did you know new..they were asking like $130k for it. [emoji15][emoji23]. At best, $100k new with all those mods...but $130k?! I really hope they were exaggerating that, but their basic Raptors with some paint matched stock bumpers/fenders & minor mods are going for $90k+, so I guess they did ask around $130k new for this one. I’ll definitely take advantage of that depreciation hit though..lol.

When I was there for my oil change a couple months ago the price was still in the 90s I believe.... They do move quite a few customized raptors so it must be working for them! I drive by the dealer twice a day on my commute and they roll through quite a few customized f150s and super dutys, or at least it looks that way by how many new builds you see parked out front each week.

You could negotiate having a stock radiator put back in as part of the sale or right afterwards so there are no powertrain warranty issues (if no tune). Have them do the OEM grill too since it has to come off to do the radiator anyway. Lots of people have upgraded radiators and have not heard of any issues strictly from that.
