Anyone else had issues with their batteries in these GEN2? I purchased my 2019 brand new in PA during the winter last year and the battery died within 2 months upon getting it back to Texas, I chalked it up as it probably sat on the lot in the cold undriven may have killed the battery. Fast forward about 6 months since the new replacement battery was installed at the dealer, last weekend the battery died after sitting in my driveway when I was out of town for 3 days. It is 100+ here in Texas and the truck was parked outside but I didn't think it would kill a battery that quick. My dealership replaced the battery again under warranty, they said they tested the electronics and there wasn't a phantom draw and all the electronics checked out, just another the battery failed the test and was replaced. Are they just giving us crappy batteries now?

This is an anomaly. The raptor has a very robust battery/alternator/starter setup due to the auto start-stop. The battery is an AGM battery which handles shock and termperatures much better than a traditional lead acid battery. First thing I would look into is a parasitic drain but you said that has been checked. Are you in a TON of stop and go with the auto start/stop working all the time? I dont know man, but it isnt normal, and I wouldnt call them crappy batteries.

someone on here had their truck do this and it turned out to be the sync module (I think) reactivating at some point after shut down. The center display would come on, and whatever else is activated then and just drain the battery. No big deal if you drive every day, but like leaving your lights on, over time it eats up the charge.

If you don’t have any mods that may be draining, I’d be looking at the truck’s fancy electronics. I think the guy who had the sync issue left it at the dealer and put a camera on it after the truck was shut down. they checked the footage and saw the sync screen fire up.

I suspect there is a parasitic drain gremlin present in your Raptor. Had the same scenario happen to me on a 2016 Lariat. Only after several hours of diligence did the mechanic trace my gremlin to the driver’s side power door lock switch. I was aware of another F-150 with the same issue. Hope you find this information helpful. Good Luck!

Also check your battery temperature sensor and mount. Vibration, shock, and poor temperature management can easily cause premature failure.

Possibly the BMS was not reset properly when the battery was replaced initially.

– Battery Replacement
• If the vehicle battery is replaced, it is very important to perform the BMS Reset using a
diagnostic scan tool.
• If the battery monitoring system reset is not carried out, it holds the old battery parameters and time in service counter in memory and it tells the system the battery is in an aged state and may limit the Electrical Energy Management system functions
• NOTE: DO NOT reset the battery monitoring system using the diagnostic scan tool if the battery is not being replaced. This reset is reserved for new battery installation. Resetting the battery monitoring system will clear the learned battery data, the battery time in service, and will affect the aging algorithm parameters, which have been learned since the installation of the battery.

Thanks for all the replies, will check on these things. I don't have any mods except a radar and a auto/start stop bypass. If it happens again i'll drop it at a different dealer and try having a second opinion and have them do a battery reset.
