Folks,

I have done this on my old 2013 F-150, but haven't found a way to disable the seatbelt chime for an unbuckled seat belt in my Gen2 SCREW. I've seen that folks are able to do it via Forscan, but hoping I can find a way without making that investment just yet.

Thanks!

Dave

Deactivating and Activating the
Belt-Minder Feature
WARNING: While the system
allows you to deactivate it, this system
is designed to improve your chances of
being safely belted and surviving an
accident. We recommend you leave the
system activated for yourself and others
who may use the vehicle.
Note: The driver and front passenger
warnings switch on and off independently.
When you perform this procedure for one
seating position, do not buckle the other
position as this will terminate the process.
Note: If you are using MyKey, you cannot
disable the Belt-Minder. Also, if the
Belt-Minder has been previously disabled,
it will be re-enabled during the use of
MyKey. See MyKey™ (page 63).
Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before
proceeding with the programming
procedure.
Before following the procedure, make sure
that:
• The parking brake is set.
• The transmission is in park (P).
• The ignition is off.
• The driver and front passenger seatbelt
is unbuckled.
1. Switch the ignition on. Do not start the
engine.
2. Wait until the seatbelt warning light
turns off (about one minute). After
Step 2, wait an additional 5 seconds
before proceeding with Step 3. Once
you start Step 3, you must complete
the procedure within 30 seconds.
3. For the seating position you are
switching off, buckle then unbuckle the
seatbelt three times at a moderate
speed, ending in the unbuckled state.
After Step 3, the seatbelt warning light
turns on.
4. While the seatbelt warning light is on,
buckle then unbuckle the seatbelt.
After Step 4, the seatbelt warning light
flashes for confirmation.
• This switches the feature off for that
seating position if it is currently on.
• This switches the feature on for that
seating position if it is currently off.

Are you saying a ten dollar cable is to much of an investment in your raptor.

With all the other benefits of forscan, well that's just dumb

I think some folks are intimidated by getting into their truck's electronics. I know I was, so I bought the Forscan sensor and turned the job over to my 14 year old.

I saw ~$30 for a cable and then a few bucks for SW. Yep, it's micenuts but I've yet to see anything else that I would change at this point. I likely could find more if I dug hard enough, but the seat belt chime, which as was pointed out here could be done for free (Thanks for the help!) is the only thing I have run into thus far. I'd rather get my truck ready to go help me fill my freezer. :)
