Question for anyone who’s had them replaced. Has Ford offered any kind of extended warranty on the replacement parts?

Not for my wife’s 2018 lariat.

she. The squatch and her various aliases is a female.

It appears that failing cam phasers is a major issue with this motor, and repeated repairs will be necessary. It does not look like this motor will have any type of long term reliability/durability... what are the chances of a stock motor making it to 150-200k?

Is anything being done by Ford to resolve this, other than multiple repairs or buybacks?

Anyone know the actual failure rate?

Are cam phasers the cause, or a symptom of another failure?

The brief sound at startup doesn't bother me, but will it lead to power loss or complete engine failure if not repaired?

The noise will get louder and louder and then it will sound like a diesel at startup. Then it will bother you.

Then it will throw other codes which lead to engine failure. Not fun - at all.

What about a class action law suit? Anybody with knowledge on this. It’s a huge issue with these trucks.

Yes, after my first failure at 19k Ford offered a choice of extended warranties.
